The night went off smoothly, and it was now morning, where I found an empty spot next to me. Fitz probably woke up early to head back downstairs to his room.

I headed out of bed and washed my face, brushed my teeth, and brushed my hair. I changed into a dress, and with my paper in hand. I headed to my father's study, knocking on the door waiting for an answer before heading in.

"Good morning kiddo. I hope it wasn't a too rough night after all the chaos that happened yesterday." I shook my head.

"I had a little teddy bear with me," he chuckled, sitting in his seat, motioning for me to sit across from him. "But I wanted to show you this paper, I found it when we were heading back to our rooms." I slid the paper to him, and he unfolded it, skimming over it.

"I'm hiring a bodyguard for you immediately. We never know when they could strike again," he answered.

"But I don't want a bodyguard." He shook his head.

"This is a serious matter, and if it means protecting you, that's all that matters whether you like it or not. The bodyguard won't be too invasive, he'll stay in your shadows and will make sure you're in his sight at all times. If there's ever a threat, that's when he does his job to protect you."

"Fine." He wrote that down on his checklist.

"Good. I won't make sure these rebels lay a single finger on you." I smile.

"Thank you father." He smiled back.

"Of course sweetheart, go to breakfast, you're a bit late."

"What about you?"

"I have a lot of things to figure out, so I'm just going to skip it. Enjoy your meal." I thanked him before leaving his study, and I made my way to the dining room. I found all of the selected in the large table, eating, while I found Edaline eating by herself. I took a seat and her eyes brightened.

"Good morning sweetheart. I hope you slept well." She greeted me as I started to get my utensils ready.

"Fine thank you, how'd you sleep?" I asked her as I started to put food on my plate.

"Good, but I definitely went to sleep with a lot of things on my mind after what happened last night." I nodded my head in agreement. "I saw that Fitz was a big help with comforting you yesterday. It was very sweet of him." I nodded my head.

"Yeah, he helped with a lot of things yesterday, I don't know how I would've handled the situation without him." Edaline smiled.

"And when he carried you to your room, was so freaking cute! I wanted to take a picture, but it wasn't the time and place, so I held myself back. But you two really made a lovely couple on the dance floor, and the matching color tie and dress was just perfect. Like a true king and queen." I smiled, my cheeks turning a light pink.

"Thank you mother. I wanted to tell you something actually, I found a paper from the rebels, and they threatened to come back for me." Her eyes widened.

"Did you tell your father? That's very serious, we need to hire you a bodyguard." I nodded my head in agreement.

"That's the same thing father said, but I'm not sure when it will actually happen. It was definitely scary." Edaline placed a hand on my arm, pursing her lips in sympathy.

"I'm so sorry darling. Don't be scared, we promise we'll get you the best bodyguard from the best security company there is, okay? If anything ever does happen, he'll keep you safe." I nodded my head.

"I know," after a little bit of silence, we talked more about the ball yesterday and upcoming events for the selection. Edaline gave a small speech apologizing for the catastrophe at yesterday's ball and then ended breakfast.
