Sophie's POV

(The next day) (There's a curse word in this chapter)

We didn't learn anything about the recording and who may have brought it, but today we plan on discussing more about it.

I heard a knock on the door, expecting it to be Linh, but when I saw the person I saw Edaline. She had an envelope in her hand, and a smile on her face.

"I have good news for you."

"Will I be able to see Fitz?" She shook her head, and I slumped my shoulders. "Then I don't care."

"I think you might want to. Here." She handed me an envelope, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw "My Love" written on it.

"Is this from Fitz?" Edaline smiled, nodding her head. "But how?"

"I got a letter myself from his mother, discussing a small exchange between the two of you guys. There's a mailman who'll come every other day to receive and give letters back and forth between you two. His father doesn't know, and neither will Grady. The two will go ballistic if they find out, but either way, even though you won't be able to be physically with him, you can read. And the day after tomorrow will be your turn to give him your letter." I smiled, looking down.

"Thank you so much." She smiled, kissing the top of my head.

"Of course, I'm glad to finally see a smile on your face. I'll give you some time to read." She left the room, closing the door behind it, and I eagerly opened it. I unfolded it, and was glad to see his neat handwriting.

Dear princess,

I'm sure you're surprised, but I told you I'd find a way. But I can't take any credit. My mom convinced the mailman to take and send letters, so we could still communicate without visually seeing each other. Even though this is better than nothing, I still really wish I could see you, love. There's not one minute that goes by without thinking about you. I hope you're not crying, because you're so much more gorgeous with a smile on your face sweetheart.

My parents were pretty mad, or my dad specifically, but I hope your parents weren't too mad at you. You don't deserve to be yelled at.

My parents grounded me for 1 month, and I can't leave the palace at all, but I'll be able to communicate with you, which is a big plus.

But anyway, I'm really sorry we ended off the way we did. I know we weren't expecting this to happen so soon, and I wish we were at least prepared for it in some way, but I'm glad we were able to say goodbye princess. But we'll see each other again, and never doubt it. I'll write again to you soon sweetheart.

Sending my love and kisses,

Yours only,

Fitzy ❤️

P.S. By the way, who was the bastard who told your parents?

P.P.S. I love you

I smiled at the note, a tear running down my cheek. I wish I could hear him speak all these words he wrote.

I immediately went to my desk, sitting down in the chair. I grabbed a fresh piece of paper, an envelope and started writing.

Dear Fitzy,

You don't want to know how happy I was to know that we were able to communicate. I've missed you immensely, and the fact that we're not able to meet makes me want to see you even more. I wish I could see, hear, and feel you, but seeing your sweet words brightened my day. Thank you so much for the sweet letters, and I'm sorry we left off the way we did darling. It feels like our time together wasn't enough, but as you said, we'll see each other again.
