It's been 2 days, and I met up with Fitz in his room so he could name me everyone in the selection.
"And Elijah. I got everyone."
"Good job."
"Don't give me another assignment. It was embarrassing enough to have to ask them for their name after being in the selection for over a month." I giggle, sitting on his bed.
"Not to worry. So have you been thinking of gifts for Noah?" I asked him.
"Yeah I have, I think I'll get him a basketball jersey from the store with some keychain of pizza."
"That's sweet." He shrugged his shoulders.
"What about you princess?"
"A fake decorated Christmas tree and a book." I answered.
"That's nice. You know the royal ball is also coming up. Only in a few weeks. So that'll mean there will be 11 selected by that time." I nodded my head.
"Yeah, it's gone by a bit fast." Fitz nodded his head, lacing his fingers with mine.
"Yeah, a bit too fast."
(Time Skip)
It was the day to give gifts, and everyone met up in the ballroom with their wrapped gifts. There was loud chatter in the room before Grady quickly grabbed their attention, silencing the room, with a clap of his hands.
"An early Merry Christmas to everyone. After a week of planning and wrapping, we'll start off with our princess to find out everyone's secret Santa." Once he finished, that was my cue to stand up and gift my present to Elijah.
"Merry Christmas, hope you like it." I say before heading back to my spot. He smiled as he unwrapped the present.
"It's wonderful, thank you." I smiled in return. And that's how the rest of the exchange went. I received a bracelet and a book, and my Santa was Liam, while Fitz received a book as well. He wasn't the happiest with the gift, but hopefully it'll cheer him up when I give him my present.
Once it was over, everyone headed into different directions, but Fitz invited me over to his room after the exchange. I quickly headed up to my room, grabbing his gift, and headed downstairs as hastily as I could.
"Do you want to start?" Fitz asked.
"Sure." I handed him my present, and even though he hadn't opened it yet, a big smile appeared on his face.
He opened it, finding the necklace inside. It wasn't one for ladies, but either way, I figured it would be better than a bracelet like me.
"The two halves make a heart." I say, holding up my bracelet. Fitz's smile was there to stay as he pulled me in for a hug, gently kissing the top of my head. "I hope you like it."
"Sweetheart I love it, thank you so much." I hugged him back, kissing his cheek.
"It's nothing big."
"I still love it. Thank you very much princess. Now it's my turn." He handed me a small box, like a ring box. I opened it, my heart melting at the ring in front of me. A beautiful ring with a silver band with our initials engraved into it.
"Is this actual diamond?"
"The diamonds on our initials, yes. This is a promise ring. It's my love for you in jewelry. When you look at this ring, always remember that my heart is entitled to you. It's yours and yours only. No matter what happens, remember that I'm here for you, and I love you so much." My heart warmed at his small speech.
"I love you so much too." I say, kissing him. It wasn't like most kisses we've had, but this one was passionate, and filled with so much love, as if we were never going to see each other again. We soon broke apart, our eyes going to the ring box.
"Try it on." He said taking it from me, and placing the ring around my right ring finger where it perfectly fit.
"Perfect." He smiled, bringing my hand up to his lips where he placed a light kiss on my knuckles. "This is the best and most thoughtful gift I've ever received. Thank you." I placed a kiss on his cheek, and I saw his cheek turn a bright red as I did.
After talking for a few minutes we heard "Sophie!" echo the hall, with the voice of my mother. I scrambled and eventually headed outside the room and she smiled when she noticed me.
"There you are. Who's room is that?"
"Fitz's, we were doing a gift exchange."
"Oooh what'd you get him." She asked, her sappy smile plastered on her face.
"A necklace with a half of a heart that connects to mine." I answered.
"That's sweet." She looked down at her hand and looked between my left, and then sighed in relief. "When I saw that ring, I thought it was on your left ring finger and was so surprised. I don't recognize it, who gave it to you?" She asked, taking my hand to inspect it.
"Fitz, it was his gift to me."
"Awww that's so sweet S+F." My cheek turned red at her loud observation. "He's a keeper." I smiled down at the ring.
"I know. Anyways, what did you call me for?"
"Right, can you actually bring Fitz here too? I have something for the both of you." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, but still went to Fitz and told him to come out. He smiled at Edaline, bowing. "Please none of that. But anyway, Merry Christmas to you both." She handed us a rectangular wrapped gift, and we started to open it, finding a picture of... us.
It was a large picture of us on our date when we were playing in the snow except in this one we were kissing.
"I noticed you two on your date a few weeks ago, and I took pictures, and I thought it would be a good idea to gift them to you. For the frame I kept it plain, in case you wanted to decorate it together, like as an idea for a small little date." Fitz and I had two different pictures, but I noticed that there were smaller frames at the bottom with pictures of us playing in the snow, and another frame of us kissing.
"Thank you so much mom. These are wonderful. You didn't show these to anyone, right?"
"Just your father and the maids."
"Mom! The maids gossip, what if one of the selected hears them?"
"They won't. Maids don't gossip in front of us, so no one hears." She defended.
"Either way, it's a wonderful gift. Thank you very much, Your Majesty." Fitz said with a bow.
"It's no problem, I hope you liked them." She said with a smile before walking the other direction.
"I guess we both know what our next date will be." I smile, nodding my head.
"Yeah. You had told us that "no one was going to see."" Fitz shrugged.
"At least it was only your mom, so it's fine." I nodded my head.
"Either way, it's a great present." Fitz nodded his head, as he looked at our picture again.
"Not going to lie, we do make a cute couple." I giggled, wrapping an arm around his waist.
"Yeah, we do."
