(The next day)

Edaline knocked on the door, peeping her head through.

"Hey sweetheart, do you think you could join me outside?" She asked. I just finished brushing my hair after my shower, and followed her out of the room. I haven't been outside in weeks.

When I stood outside I saw Edaline standing next to tall man, with dirty blonde hair, emerald green eyes, with a strap of weapons wrapping around his waist.

"Sophie, this is your bodyguard, Brandon." Edaline introduced, which was Brandon's cue to bow to me.

"There's no need for that." I say. "Can I go back inside?" Edaline rolled her eyes at me, shaking her head.

"Well you're already out, so take a walk around the palace."

"Will he be following me around everywhere?" I ask.

"Whenever I have to be. I'll just stay in your shadows, and come out if you're in danger." He spoke. His voice was slightly less deeper than what I would've imagined.

"That's fine then. May I head back inside?" Edaline sighed, nodding her head.

Once I headed back inside, I heard quiet chatter between Edaline and Brandon.

"I'm sorry, I'm not sure if you've heard the news about everything, but she's just not been feeling herself lately." I heard Edaline say to him.

"It's not a problem, I just need to make sure I have her in my sight, everything else doesn't matter." Brandon responded.

"Thank you, I have no doubts you'll be a wonderful bodyguard to her." And after that, it was silent, and I heard light footsteps fade by the second.

Having a bodyguard was already terrible.

(A couple days later)

Edaline entered my room, holding an envelope in her hands, and I eagerly sat up, holding out my hands. Edaline laughed softly, placing the envelope in my hand.

"Here you go. And darling, please leave your room at some point. I know you don't want to see your father, but you can't live here."

"Well, I have a bathroom in my room, books, and you bring me food every day, so I kind of can." I answered, starting to open it.

"Sophie, will you please at least just join us for dinner later?" I slump my shoulders, laying back on my pillow.

"Why?"

"Or else, I won't be getting the mail anymore and if your father gets there before I do, he'll see the notes you and Fitz send between each other, and he'll stop everything." My eyes widened. I know she would never do that, but I wasn't taking any chances.

"Mom, why do you have to do this?" I asked.

"Dinner's at 7, I'm assuming I'll see you there?" I rolled my eyes sighing.

"Fine." She smiled, gently clapping her hands.

"Good. I'll let you be," she said, blowing me a kiss before leaving the room.

I stood up and went to my desk, taking a seat. I unfolded the paper in front of me, starting to read his letters.

Dear Princess,

Seeing your words warmed my heart, and every day that I'm away from you breaks my heart into more pieces. I count the suns until I see you again sweetheart, and when I do, it'll truly be the best day of my life.

I hope you find the culprit to the reason why we're miles apart, and please tell me everything when you do.

I as well wish I could see your gorgeous smile, hear your angelic laugh, and envelope you in a huge hug, but alas we can't. But we will. I promise.
