Submission's were still coming in quite a lot, might I add. Apparently I had to read through them to find out the 26 guys that I would like to join my selection. I opened what seems like the millionth envelope I've opened today but a smile rose on my face when I saw who it was.

It was Fitz's. He had lied of course but I know enough about him to fill out the whole paper. So he's definitely in selection. Only 25 more to pick.

After an agonizing 4 hours, I picked out the rest of the 25 guys that I think would fit the role of king and be a delight to live with for the rest of my life. Although I hated the fact I had to pick and choose the people, it didn't seem fair to everyone else who had entered.

Another paper was going out listing the guys who were selected, a few of them princes, a lot of them outsiders. It'll be fun to see what this selection will fulfill.

I laid down on my bed, cuddling with my blue stuffed elephant, Ella.

I thought about the selection and soon realized that Fitz's plan will only work up until the end of the selection, because I already know I'm going to pick him. Afterwards, our parents would have to meet, which will probably end up being a disaster. But I smiled.

Fitz likes me. He didn't tell me technically but he actually likes me! The fact that he wanted to join the selection said it all.

The selection was starting next week on Monday but on Saturday there will be a ball with only the selected guys and my family. To get to know each other before the selection formally starts. I was doing dress fittings and they were starting to finish. I decided to go for a red dress and the designer had already given me a sneak peak at the dress which was a couple layers, large, with no sleeves but decorated with mini gems and flowers.

I thought it looked beautiful, only difficult to walk in.

For the rest of the day I read a book and had dinner with my parents before all the lights were off in the palace, which meant it was time to sneak out.

I headed out the palace and made my way to the wall finding Fitz already there.

"Hey Sophie!" He said, greeting me with a short hug. "How are you?"

"Good thank you, how about you?"

"Just fine, thanks. I know the results were sent out today." He asked, eager for the answer.

"You're in." A big smile grew on his face, and he dug his hands in his pockets.

"That's good to hear." Fitz said.

"Glad you're happy. I brought a little letter that has all the information for the ball and selection itself." I grabbed it from my bag and handed it to him.

"Thank you." He skimmed it over and nodded his head in understandment.

"So will you be coming to the ball on Saturday?" I ask him.

"I'll have to go it over with my parents. But I'm sure they'll allow it." He said.

"Wonderful, and by the way, why Fitz Wellington?" I asked him and he shrugged his shoulders in response.

"I thought that it sounded the most snobby and prince-like." He answered, putting the paper in his mini bag.

"Well you weren't wrong." He chuckled in response, swiping a lock of hair which fell in front of his eyes.

"Are we still going to meet at night during the selection?" He asked.

"Whatever you'd prefer, I enjoy meeting up so it's really what you want. We could take walks in the garden, meet up in the library, talk in your room or even mine. Doesn't really matter." He smiled.

"That sounds good." We continued to talk for the next couple of hours, until we decided to head back to our homes. We agreed that we wouldn't meet up tomorrow and wait to meet at the ball on Saturday.

"Good night."

"Good night." We split off to our own palaces and I changed and brushed my teeth, slipping underneath my warm soft blankets. With the clap of my hands, the lights turned off and the second my head hit my pillow, I was fast asleep.

The next day after breakfast, I went inside the ballroom, finding everyone placing decorations around the room and setting up tables. My mother and father were instructing everyone where to put the decorations and on that note, I headed back into my room.

I started to read a book until I was interrupted by my mother entering my room.

"Hey sweetheart, wanted to check in with you. I'm sure this is all pretty nerve wracking for you." I shrug my shoulders, setting my book down on my nightstand as she takes a seat on the edge of my bed.

"It is but I think it'll all turn out well." She smiled and kissed my temple.

"That's my girl. And who knows, maybe you'll find your soulmate out of the 26 guys you've chosen." I smile, nodding.

"Maybe."

"I remember when I had a selection, I was as upset as you when I found out. I was actually already dating your father, which is why I had been so upset with the decision. My parents had always wanted me to marry someone with money, because your father only lived in the village at the time and didn't have much money. But I truly loved your father and I was ecstatic when I knew he had entered the selection. Even though you're not dating anyone now, you can still find the love of your life in this upcoming selection." I listened silently to her story, and noticed the comparisons between her story and mine. Although I wasn't exactly dating Fitz, I was still forced to have a selection while my heart belonged to someone else.

"Yeah you're right. I have to say, I'm quite excited to meet them." She smiled, placing a kiss on my forehead.

"That's good, have you decided on what tiara you'll wear for the ball?" I groaned and laid back in my bed.

"Do I have to?" I asked as my mother stood up and went to a small box I had on my vanity where I kept all of my tiara's.

"Oh sweetheart, all of your tiara's are old. I have a very nice one in my room, I'll be right back." She kept the box open as she went to retrieve the tiara from her room.

I stood up and walked to my vanity, where I had only the box of tiara's and chapstick. I held one of the tiara's in my hand, looking at all the jewels on it.

I had quite a few in the box, they've only been used for special occasions. Edaline came in the door with quite a beautiful tiara. It was decorated with small diamonds and jewels and it looks like it'll go great with my red ball gown.

"I wore this for my selection as well, it's still quite a favorite of mine." Edaline spoke, standing behind me, the mirror of the vanity reflecting her actions. She gently placed the tiara on the top of my head, placing her hands on my shoulder as she looked at me through the mirror.

"You look beautiful dear, these men are going to be so smitten by you." I smile, my cheeks turning a light pink.

"Thank you mother." She smiled, taking the tiara off my head and set it on the vanity again.

"You're welcome sweetie, I myself can't wait for your selection." She said, starting to head towards my bedroom door.

"Same here." I say, a smile on my face.

"Well I have a couple meetings to attend to, so I'll see you later. Bye Sophie."

"Bye mother." She exited the room, leaving me alone once again, only to be entertained by my books. I laid on my bed, snuggling with Ella, staring into my white ceiling.

My mind was now only on the selection. I had different thoughts about how it'll turn out and the personalities of the men that I have invited to be part of my selection.

I only hope everything goes as smoothly as I want it to.
