It's been a week since we've been in the infirmary, and today I was actually leaving it. Which was surprising. I was getting a boot for my ankle, and I still had the gauze wrapped around my lower leg, and I had to come by every day to get it changed.
"Well you're all set to go," Elwin said, giving me a pair of crutches. I felt bad to leave Fitz all by himself, but he had a more serious injury and I wouldn't want him to become even more hurt than he already is.
"Thank you Elwin." He smiled.
"No problem. And please promise me to take it easy." He said.
"Don't worry, I promise."
"And promise me you'll visit me every day princess." Fitz added.
"I promise sweetheart. I'll get as bored as you, so don't worry." He gave me a small smile before I started to practice walking with the crutches. I almost tripped, but I held onto the wall for support.
"Soph you scared me," Fitz said.
"At this rate, I'll be scaring you a lot. And myself." I say, continuing to practice it.
"Anyway, thanks a lot Elwin." He smiled.
"It's no problem, stay off your foot as much as you can." He said, opening the door for me. I said a quick bye to Fitz before leaving to my room, which I couldn't get to with the crutches.
I saw no one in the hall, and settled to go back to the infirmary.
"What's wrong?" Elwin asked, opening the door for me to enter through.
"Nothing. I couldn't get to my room because of the stairs, and didn't feel like shouting for assistance, so I came back here." I answered, taking a seat on my cot. Elwin chuckled at my answer.
"Well I think it's time to remove your gauze anyways," he said, going to the cabinet. He put some plastic gloves on, and started to take off my old gauze.
Once it was all unwrapped, he threw it in the trash, and opened a small packaging. He placed a cool gel over the stitching before wrapping new gauze over it.
"There you go."
"Thank you." I say, laying back on the cot as he took off the gloves and washed his hands. Fitz grabbed my hand, and we heard a knock on the door.
"Come on in," Elwin said. Two people, a girl and a boy, entered the room with Fitz's parents following behind them. The girl had wavy long hair that almost reached her elbows with the same color as Fitz's, with a similar teal eye color. She wore a gown, a diamond necklace, and she threw her arms around Fitz's neck when she saw him. The guy was blonde, with ice blue eyes, and was as tall as Fitz's dad. Fitz smiled softly at the girl and hugged her back.
"Don't ever do that to me ever again Fitz!" She said, finally breaking apart.
"I won't Biana," she took a step back for the guy to give Fitz a handshake, and they said a few words. Fitz glanced over at me, grabbing my hand.
"Sophie, this is my sister Biana and my best friend Keefe. Guys this is Sophie, my girlfriend." Biana gave off a smile, waving. Keefe whispered something into Fitz's ear and he rolled his eyes.
"It's so nice to finally meet you!" Biana said excitedly. "Fitz has said a lot of things about you."
"I hope only good things," I say, and I saw Fitz's cheeks turn a red color at his sister's statement. "Wait, is this the friend who's mom kidnapped us?" I whispered to Fitz, and he nodded his head.
"So tell us, what happened to you guys?" He asked, taking a seat next to Biana.
"Sophie got kidnapped, and when I found out, I snuck out to find her. Then I got kidnapped myself, but I finally found her. We were torchered a lot, and the kidnapper had a whole plan for us, but we made it out of there before she could do anything."
"Who was she?" Keefe asked. Fitz avoided the question, and sighed before speaking.
"Your mom." His eyes widened, but then he cocked his head in confusion.
"My mom? I haven't seen her in over 10 years, what would she want to do with you guys?"
"She wanted the crown. She was planning on having Sophie marry you to take the crown, and just kill me."
"Wow. I'm so sorry. I can't believe she would do that."
"It's alright, the important thing is that we made it out of there." Biana and Keefe nodded their heads.
"We're glad you did. You had us all worried," Biana said. "What injuries do you have?"
"I sprained my ankle and got shot in the leg, and Fitz was shot with an arrow to the stomach and with a bullet to the arm." Fitz nodded his head.
"Wow, how long until you'll be fully recovered?"
"There's no actual time yet, but it'll definitely be a while with the injuries that we have." Fitz answered. And for the rest of the hour we continued talking until they left.
I wrapped my arms around Fitz's and rested my head on his shoulders.
"I'm so tired." Fitz nodded his head.
"Me too." He kissed my forehead, before resting his head on top of mine. "I love you," he whispered, a small yawn escaping his lips afterwards.
"I love you too."
