2014

I ran and ducked behind a wall.

My hands were shaking as I reloaded my gun. I heard shots from behind me and dived behind another wall.

Everything was dark so it was hard to see the oncoming enemy.

I peeked around the corner and couldn't see anyone.

Slowly, I crept out of my hiding place and stalked over to a staircase. I stayed low and made sure I was aware of my surroundings. As I made it to the top of the stairs, I ran and hid behind a wall.

My breathing was quick and I focused on slowing it down.

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath in and heard someone but it was too late.

I was quickly pinned to the ground and shot.

Everything around me went dark and silent.

I knew in that moment, I had been killed.

"Gosh Darn, Steve!" I yelled as the lights flicked back on. "You win every time."

Steve helped me off the floor and laughed as the lights flicked back on.

"Team Cap victorious." A robotic voice rang through the air. I rolled my eyes and undid my laser tag vest. Steve helped me take it off and carried it for me to the front desk.

I had introduced Steve to laser tag a month ago and now it was our only date option. He LOVED it. I was beginning to think he loved it more than me.

I walked outside and was thankful to feel the cool breeze after being trapped in that stuffy room. Steve took my hand and led me back to the truck.

He held my door open before walking to the other side. I cranked the AC on and rested my arm on the center console.

Steve took my hand in his and smiled over to me.

These past few years have been the best of my life. Steve was my best friend and I was so lucky we were together. We had been through so much together and it only taught us to trust each other more.

I squeezed Steve's hand as I smiled up at him and watched everything passing by my window. Just before we pulled into our apartment's parking garage, Steve pulled into the park's parking lot across from our homes.

I looked up at him and smiled excitedly. He looked over to me with a knowing smile. Before Steve could make it to my door, I swung it open violently and bounced excitedly on my heels as soon as I touched the ground.

"Only because I feel bad for creaming you..." Steve smirked. I rolled my eyes and dragged him down the path. We talked about little useless things as we walked. It didn't matter what we talked about, we were always content as long as the other was present.

"Yeah, well that's why I won't eat spaghetti!" Steve stated, laughing.

"OHHHH! That clears everything up!" I laughed.

A little boy walked over to us and stopped.

"Ms.?" The boy asked nervously. Steve looked down at me and smiled.

"Yes?" I asked softly, kneeling down to his height.

"Is your husband Captain America?" He whispered loudly. I blinked and laughed quietly, looking back at Steve. He smiled and stuck his hands in his pockets.

"He's my boyfriend. And yes. He is Captain America." I loudly whispered back. The boy's eyes grew big. He smiled and whispered, "Cool" before running off to his parents.

I stood up and laughed. Steve laughed as well, tilting his head to the side and raising his eyebrows.

Ever since Loki in New York, people stopped us to ask if we were superheroes. Kids were always my favorite though. They were always so excited to see us.

Steve took my hand again and began to walk.

"So... Mrs. Rogers?" He mused. I blushed and nudged him with my shoulder.

"Whatever." I laughed, rolling my eyes.

"I don't knowwww. Sounds pretty good to me." He laughed as I pushed him off the path.

"You have to ask me first, dweeb." I chuckled, still walking.

Steve's Pov:

"You still have to ask me first, dweeb." Y/n chuckled, walking away from me. I put my hand in my jacket pocket and felt the ring I had bought a few weeks ago.

Little did she know, I already planned to.
