It's been 5 years since you left me, Kyra. Five long years of carrying the weight of your betrayal, and yet it still stings me as if it happened just yesterday. We dreamt of a future together, you filled my heart with promises and gave me hopes, only to shatter them all in one ruthless moment.
You were the person I adored the most, the one I trusted blindly, but now you are the person I hate the most. I hate the fact that I can't erase you from my mind no matter how much I try. I hate the fact that I'm still stuck in the past because of you, chained to memories that refuse to fade away.
You were the sweet poison that almost destroyed me back then. A sweet poison that stayed close to me through my childhood, my teenage years, and even into my adulthood until 5 years ago, when you decided to walk away without looking back.
Today, daadi asked me to think about marriage, to settle down and start afresh. But how can I, when the wound you left is still as raw as ever? The scar you carved into my heart refuses to heal, and every time I even think of moving on, it burns enough to remind me never to fall for such a trap again.
