Aarohi quickly got ready and applied a light touch of makeup, enough to highlight her natural facial features without overdoing it. After finishing up, she glanced at her watch and realized with a jolt that only five minutes were left until his arrival. Her heartbeat quickened at the thought of a dinner date, and a nervous shiver passed through her.

“Aaru, Aditya has come to take you,” Naina said warmly as she entered the room, her eyes instantly softening in awe at the sight of her daughter. “Today, my baby is looking so beautiful.” She lovingly applied a small kaala tika behind Aarohi’s ear to ward off the evil eye. Aarohi smiled faintly, clutching the fabric of her dress nervously with her fingers.
“Let’s go, he is waiting for you,” Naina encouraged gently. Aarohi nodded silently, her stomach fluttering, and together the two stepped out of her room.
