Kajal, Aarohi, and Aditya left for the temple shortly after. Aditya was driving the car, with Aarohi seated beside him and Kajal in the back seat. Throughout the ride, he kept stealing glances at Aarohi from the corner of his eyes.

Aarohi, however, was completely engrossed in admiring the world outside her window. The changing scenery reflected on her face, and her soft expressions made Aditya chuckle inwardly. He found it oddly amusing how easily she got lost in her own thoughts while watching something so simple.

The journey to the temple remained mostly quiet, with only a few casual exchanges of words between Aarohi and Kajal. Within a few minutes, the trio reached the temple. Just as Aditya and Aarohi were about to walk inside, Kajal suddenly spoke up.

“Wait, both of you. You can’t just walk in like this. Aditya, you have to carry Aarohi in your arms up the stairs. It’s a ritual, and people believe that the couple who performs it stays together for seven lifetimes,” Kajal said, her eyes twinkling with mischief as she tried to hide her teasing smile at their reactions.

Aarohi’s heart sank a little at her words. She knew very well that no ritual could change the truth of their marriage. After all, both of them had already decided to part ways in six months. On the other hand, Aditya’s face betrayed no emotions. Without a word, without even thinking twice, he simply bent down and lifted Aarohi in his arms before heading toward the staircase of the temple.

Aarohi gasped in shock at his sudden action. She hadn’t expected him to go along with the ritual so easily. Her arms instinctively wrapped around his neck for balance as she tried to steady herself, her heart beating faster than usual. Kajal, on the other hand, was quietly overjoyed to see them at least putting in some effort for each other, whether they realized it or not.

Once they reached the top floor of the temple, the newly married couple, along with Kajal, took the blessings of God and Pandit ji before heading back down.

“Aarohi beta, you get changed. Adi will drop you at your house,” Kajal said gently once they returned. Aarohi nodded and went back to her room, while Aditya stood there for a moment, confused. Why would his mother ask him to drop Aarohi back to Sharma House when she had just arrived at Goenka Mansion yesterday?

He wanted to question his mother, but knowing her, he was sure she would only tease him mercilessly. So instead, he decided to ask Aarohi directly.

“Tum… kya apne family ko miss kar rahi ho? Uh… don’t take my words the wrong way. I was just curious since Mom asked me to drop you at Sharma House.” He kept his tone casual and deliberately avoided making eye contact while speaking.
