The baraat left Goenka House for the wedding hall, with loud music, laughter, and a lot of fun and enjoyment filling the air. The sound of dhol and shehnai added to the festive spirit as relatives and friends danced energetically in front of the beautifully decorated cars.
Aditya, however, was sitting inside his car quietly, maintaining his usual composure, while his entire family was busy dancing joyfully outside. Since the wedding hall was just ten minutes away from the Goenka house, the whole route turned into a small street celebration.
At the Wedding Hall
The Sharma family, their relatives, and guests were eagerly waiting for the baraat to arrive. The entire place was glowing with lights, marigold garlands, and traditional décor. Aarohi was sitting inside the bridal room she had been allotted, accompanied by her friends and some close colleagues.
Though she appeared calm, her nervousness kept increasing with each passing second. Deep down, she was both anxious and somewhat eager to finally face her destiny. Her best friend, however, was busy teasing her by bringing up her first night with Mr. Godzilla, as she fondly called Aditya, making Aarohi even more restless.
And to add to her nervousness, the sound of dhols and fireworks announced the arrival of the baraat. The Sharma family stepped forward to welcome the groom’s side with all rituals, while Aarohi’s friends, including Nandini, rushed outside to get the first glimpse of the baraat. Aarohi couldn’t resist anymore; her heart was racing. She slowly moved towards the window and peeked out, trying to catch sight of the baraat from there.
While she was busy admiring the scene, Aditya, sitting in his car, suddenly felt someone’s gaze on him. He looked in that direction and found Aarohi peeking from the window, her face glowing under the warm wedding lights. Their eyes met for a brief moment, sending shivers down Aarohi’s spine. Flustered, she quickly drew the curtain, hiding her blushy face, while Aditya chuckled softly at her antics.
Soon after, Aditya stepped out of his car and stood in front of the main entrance. Naina came forward to perform the traditional aarti, waving the thali in circular motions before him. She lovingly pulled his nose, a playful ritual meant to remind the groom of his responsibilities, making everyone laugh heartily. After this, Aditya was escorted towards the stage. Meanwhile, Nandini and Aarohi’s other friends went to bring the bride.
(Imagine the song Kudmayi playing softly in the background.)
And then, the moment arrived. Aarohi descended the stairs gracefully, holding the hands of Abhimanyu and Dev, who were walking on either side of her. Abhimanyu’s eyes grew moist as he saw his baby sister in her bridal attire, while Dev controlled his not so real emotions, his grip on Aarohi’s hand tightening in silent reassurance.
