|AAROHI'S POV|

Dadu, do you remember when I was just five years old and we used to go out for evening walks near that grand 5-star hotel? You once told me that the place had been famous ever since its opening in the early 1900s. I can still recall how both of us would stand there for long minutes, quietly admiring the beauty of that Indo-British-styled hotel, its charm unmatched even in the modern age.

As a child, every time I looked at it, a dream would spark in my heart I wanted to be a chef there someday. And look at me now, Dadu… I’ve almost made my way into the Caelum Oasis. Back then, when you were by my side, the hotel was known as the Astral Oasis, but now the name has changed.

Even though its name is different, for me it will always remain the same. It still holds all the memories of those evenings with you, all the laughter and the little lessons you gave me. More than that, it carries the weight of your own unfulfilled dream the dream of becoming a chef, a dream you had to sacrifice for the sake of your family. And now, in just a few months, your little gudiya will fulfil that dream for both of us by working at our favourite hotel.

But for now, Dadu, I need to rest. Tomorrow is the day I will step into a marriage with that cold-hearted man. My heart feels heavy, but I promise I’ll hold onto our dream no matter what.

The Next Morning
At Sharma House

Everyone in the Sharma house was busy preparing for Aarohi’s haldi ceremony. Unlike other functions, today’s ritual was being held separately at both the Goenka and Sharma residences.

Aarohi was already dressed and ready, sitting quietly in her room, waiting for her mother to call her downstairs.
