|AUTHOR'S POV|

The ride back to Goenka House was filled with an eerie silence and secretive glances. Throughout the journey, Aditya did not utter a single word. Aarohi too wasn’t in a condition to say anything; both of them remained lost in their own thoughts.

Aditya’s mind was restless with questions. He was curious to know what exactly had happened in Sharma House. How did Aarohi get trapped inside the storeroom? What was she doing there in the first place? And how did her mother and grandmother fail to notice her absence for so long?

Somewhere deep inside, he felt that it might have been Maya who had intentionally locked Aarohi. But then he recalled that he hadn’t seen Maya at the house neither when he went to drop Aarohi there nor at the time when this whole incident took place.

His chain of thoughts came to a halt when he realised that they had already reached home. Just as he was about to step out of the car, his eyes fell on Aarohi, who was still lost in her own world and hadn’t even opened the car door. He gently patted her shoulder to bring her back to reality.

“Ghar aagya hai, Aarohi,” he spoke softly.

[We’ve reached home, Aarohi.]

Aarohi gave a small nod in response and quietly got out of the car. Together, they walked inside the house, where everyone was already waiting for them in the hall. Aditya had informed the family about the incident through a phone call, so their faces carried worry and concern. Kajal was the first to notice the two of them entering. She immediately rushed forward, but her steps faltered for a moment when her eyes fell on Aarohi’s pale and shaken face.

"Beta, are you okay? Your face appears so dull," Kajal asked Aarohi with deep concern, her hand gently caressing Aarohi’s arm.

"Yes, Mom, I’m okay. I’m just a little bit tired," Aarohi replied with a faint smile, trying to mask her exhaustion.

But before they could head towards their room, Rajveer entered the house. His eyes instantly fell on Aarohi, and he realised she had returned from Sharma House.

"Aar–bhabhi, mujhe bulakar aap kahan gayab ho gayi thi?" Rajveer blurted out in confusion.

[Sister-in-law, where did you disappear after calling me?]

Everyone present in the hall turned to stare at Rajveer in surprise. Aditya’s brows furrowed as curiosity sparked within him. When did Aarohi call him? And where? Before Aarohi could even open her mouth to answer, Aditya’s sharp voice broke the silence.
