Stay Strong Seventeen

Vernon

Vernon is always soft and calm, he usually blends in with the rest of the members and has a cool chill guy vibes

But not today

To say the least, Vernon's mind was a bit off today. He got a phone call earlier that made him feel a bit uneasy ... Sophia, his baby sister, was crying her eyes out over the phone saying something about being bullied at school. Of course, as her big brother, Vernon offered her all the support she needed but when he finally hang up, the conversation just left an after burn feeling in his chest ... like he could have done more but couldn't?

And was a bit distracted and off beat

So when he landed absentmindedly on his right foot, slipped and hit the floor with a huge thud, and a loud painful scream escaped him ... Vernon's usual calm demeanor was no more.

The fall was very bad to say the least

Hoshi was first to get to him, the Performance team leader only wished that Vernon's fall will leave a bad bruise, but his wishes went unfulfilled.

Vernon's loud scream filled the place and he dropped to the floor with a huge thud. He curled into the smallest ball and the look on his face with his eyes screwed shut was terrifying. Hoshi hurried to pin him down, if Vernon keeps tossing and squirming he might end up hurting himself even more.

Soon, Seungcheol and Jeonghan joined him as well trying their best to calm him down asked him no move any further and called for help right away. Vernon was breathing deeply, it was harder to gasp for air when his lungs were almost bleeding in pain.

Hoshi tried to take a look at Vernon's ankle but couldn't risk moving him, taking his shoes off for him or even touching him but he could clearly see the abnormal way his ankle was positioned, if it wasn't broken then it's at least twisted and Hoshi wished it was the latter.

Vernon was biting his lips trying not to scream once again he let his head hit the floor and gave up to whatever the team leaders were trying to do, which was not letting him hurt himself any further while waiting for help.

Vernon's stomach twitched from the sudden pain that shot all across his body and made him shiver to his core. It felt like  an electrifying sensation all over his body and his leg was throbbing with agonizing pain and pressure that made his stomach churn and twist. He screwed his eyes shut again trying to push away everything and everyone, their concerned questions, the chaos that took place.

Help was there eventually, the doctor did his best not to move Vernon so much or at least did it in a manner that won't hurt him any further.
Vernon bit his tongue trying not to scream or let out any pained whining ... he could see the terrified look on Seungkwan's face and the tears already flowing on Chan's cheeks, Mingyu holding Wonwoo by the wrist making him stay put. Seungcheol and Hoshi were the only two allowed around him except the paramedics and the two ended up riding with him to the hospital.

"I believe you broke your ankle Vernon" the doctor said in a calm manner breaking the news rather softly giving the terrified look that was painted across the younger's face

"But don't worry okay? First, we need an Xray to confirm and a small procedure will fix it right away"

By the time they got to the hospital, Vernon's pain was more or less under control and they rushed him to the emergency room.

It was confirmed a while later that in deed it was broken and Vernon required to undergo a surgery right away.

It wasn't that dangerous and it didn't take much time but when they see him next, Vernon was sedated. The pain was gone, his face still and looked merely sleeping. Hoshi sat by his side for a while a heaved a long sigh

"It could have been worse" he muttered "Thank God it's just that"

Jeonghan behind him squeezed his shoulder "He's okay, will just need some time to heal he'll be fine in no time"

"I know"
