Jeonghan stood up, he checked on Chan one last time before he decided to leave and let him get some rest.

He sighed deeply remembering the events from last night. They got home after a long day and Chan was obviously tired but so was everyone else and they simply didn't notice. The younger was sick for a few days now with a cough and sore throat but no one knew how bad it was until they got home last night and he spent the entire evening throwing up.

At first, Chan brushed it off as a stomachache but when the stomachache turned into cold shivers and a bad fever, it became obvious that this was more than a common flu.

He was coughing to no end and turned purple a couple of times and they said enough was enough. Chan barely could take a breath and Jeonghan was scared, what if he caught pneumonia or something.

Seungcheol agreed and felt helpless when nothing seemed to be working, he didn't waste anymore time and dialed their doctor to come and give him a checkup. Meanwhile, Jeonghan and the others made sure Chan was taken care of, the younger sunk into his mattress and couldn't pick himself up ever since.

His fever was getting worse by the minute, it just spiked up so quickly, his irritated throat caused him to cough more and more.
His shivers were almost uncontrollable and Jeonghan covered him up tightly but still wasn't enough. Soonyoung walked in with cold water and a compress and tried to cool down his temperature but Chan was too sensitive and couldn't stand the cold against his skin.

"Gosh when did this happen? How did it get this bad this quick?" Jun asked sitting next to Chan on the bed, checked on his fever once again and tried to keep Chan awake. The boy was tired and stopped talking a little while ago, it was best he stayed silent because he would start coughing with every word he said.

Jun sighed holding Chan's hand and waiting for Seungcheol to finish that follow up phone call and was relieved to hear that the doctor was on his way.

The doctor arrived and diagnosed Chan with a bad flu almost immediately. He said that it probably been escalated over time and that they shouldn't have let it get this worse ... but they didn't know.

They brushed it as a cough, he was just coughing the past couple of days and that was all. He never complained from anything else and they felt just so guilty for not seeing it coming.

The doctor left a few hours later when Chan's inflamed throat seemed to have gotten better. The antibiotics were kicking in and Chan started feeling a little better immediately falling to sleep.

Everyone took turns throughout the night to check on the younger and Chan struggled with his fever the entire night. He woke up many times just to complain about his head hurting and just how uncomfortable he was feeling and every time someone was there to talk to him and help him go back to sleep. In the early morning, the doctor came back for the second time to check on him, he gave him his second dose of antibiotics and prescribed him some more medication for the next few days.

It was past 11am when Jeonghan came in to check on Chan again. The younger seemed sleeping, he walked in and sat by his side, pressed his palm against his forehead and was relieved to notice that his fever was much better. He was taking his cough drops and prescribed syrup almost every time he woke up and it helped him just fine he wasn't coughing anymore.

Chan slowly opened his eyes, making Jeonghan jump a little and knelt down to meet his eyes

"Hi ... hey, how are you feeling?" He brushed Chan's hair gently and the younger blinked a few times still looking tired,
"I'll get you some water?" Jeonghan offered and Chan took it gratefully ...
"I'm sorry you had to go through all of this, we should've known better"

Chan still didn't say anything, he didn't blame anyone and didn't complain about anything ... he really had no energy to talk or argue.

"I'm sorry" Jeonghan said again watching Chan close his eyes again, he continued brushing his hair softly until he fell back to sleep.

When Jeonghan took a while to come back, Soonyoung joined him. The performance team leader got worried, he peeked through the door and saw Jeonghan sitting next to Chan gently playing with his hair. Jeonghan finally noticed him and gave him a smile,

"He woke up sipped on some water and went back to sleep" Jeonghan announced and Soonyoung nodded, a little exhausted sigh escaped him,

"We are leaving in a bit" he announced, right, Soonyoung, Vernon and Jun have prescheduled things to do, Mingyu and Wonwoo were up all night and the two were taking a small nap in the living room, Seungcheol, Minghao and Joshua in the kitchen, Seungkwan, DK and Jihoon getting ready for a recording session and they are also leaving soon.

Jeonghan nodded, he said goodbye to the trio, passed by Mingyu and Wonwoo in the long room and went back to Chan's room.
The younger was asleep for a couple more hours and when he woke up, Jeonghan was sleeping on the armchair near him and Seungcheol right by his side adjusting the cold towel on his head.

"Hi ... good morning sunshine" Seungcheol greeted him and Chan smiled, he looked a little more aware of his surroundings, more awake

"Hi" his voice was tired from all the coughing,

"How are you feeling?"

"Like I've been hit by a truck"

Seungcheol smiled sadly at him, Chan he had a long night and he can't blame him for feeling like so, the leader reached out to hold his hand "I'm sorry kiddo, you'll be alright you just need plenty of rest"

Chan didn't argue, he knew that it's going to be hard to arrange and he was grateful for whatever his leader will put together for him.

"Hannie shouldn't be sleeping like that"

Seungcheol chuckled "Yeah he'll complain about a sore back later"

"I'm sorry" Chan apologized, his eyes nothing but tired and guilty

"Hey don't be now, actually I'm sorry, we should've known better, we should've taken better care of you"

Chan closed his eyes "Yes you should have" he chuckled and Seungcheol felt bad but was glad that Chan was laughing at the whole thing "I feel like shit"

"it will get better, I promise"
