Olivia's POV

We sat for what seemed like hours just staring. At each other, at the paper, staring aimlessly. I, looking for answers, him, hiding them.

I leaned back into the comfort of the tree and searched the skies for The answers I needed. The birds were lucky, they could always sense when a storm is coming or fly away when things get to that point of no return.

Why? All I wanted to know was why. Why me? Why my parents? Why? Just...why.

"Liv...I don't know what to tell you.." Liam's voice said softly, he wasn't even bothering to look up anymore. It was useless and he knew it.

"Tell me the truth.." I said barely above a whisper. What is happening to me..this isn't the Olivia I was. The old Liv would be running around, complaining about being hungry and not giving a fuck about all of life's problems. Somewhat unhealthy repression of my feelings but other than that, I was happy...now I don't know what I am.

He looked strained. He has no right to look like that, I'm the one going through all of this...well, maybe that's a bit harsh...maybe I should give them the benefit of the doubt.

"Tell me the truth," I repeated, my voice gaining more confidence. There yoi go Liv. You can do this.

"At least come down from there and let us explain...", I glanced down and daw that they all had returned. It worked! They all looked like they just came back from war, covered in dirt.

Louis! A smile immediately plastered itself onto my face seeing him and his goofy grin. I could see burn marks on his arms that he was trying to hide but I tried to pay them no mind.

I couldn't help myself when he pouted and motioned for me to come down. I descended the tree trunk in a suprisingly graceful manner, immediately rocketing myself into Louis who caught me. He wrapped his strong arms around me and held held me close to him. I heard him sharply intake his breath and I tired to pull back, assuming I had hurt his already damaged arms. Though he pulled me even closer, whispering into my ear.

"God I've missed you," cue the tears.

After he let go, I pulled back and tried to quickly wiped away the few strays that had gotten out. Trying to regain my composure, I put back a bit of distance between us.

"Right, well, explain," They started fidgeting again, the same looks on their faces as when I had first shown the paper to them. I assume they informed Louis on the way, as he shared on their collective looks of pity laced with guilt.

"Well...umm..Harry, you have the best memory, you explain," Louis spoke nervously, nodding in Harry's direction. Harry stood there, he looked at me, a huge amount of uncertainty in his deep green eyes.

"Olivia...you are a very special girl. I'm sure you already know that. You, uh, have both vampire and werewolf mates to choose from and that's strange for a human. But you already know you aren't human, nor witch nor werewolf, nor vampire. You my sweet Olivia, are a Penta, a hybrid of sorts. A being that can decide their nature, whenever they would like,"

A what? Penta? Like a pentagon?

"What do you mean, decide my nature? And penta? Why am I a fucking shape?" He couldn't help but chuckle at my lame attempt at a joke, then took a breath and continued.

"Liv, the way you can possess vampire abilities when you would like, or be able to do spells like a witch, hurt like a human or have strength like a werewolf. You decide what you are. That is why the mate binding can work both ways. You decide if you are a vampire or a werewolf and then mates are decided." Okay, it's processing. So I get to choose what side I'm on. How fun.
