Chapter One: Jason

Everybody in the Argo II was shocked by the turn of events. Percy and Annabeth's gone; in Tartarus.

Leo raised the ship afloat and set it to auto-pilot so that they wouldn't attract more monsters. They couldn't risk losing another demigod after what happened to the two lovebirds.

Jason, along with Frank, whose bow slung across his back, was leaning on the starboard rail and watching the whole incident. The pit to Tartarus was now covered by several tons of debris, dirt and Italian cars. Several police and rescue workers were there, checking for any accidents. A few people surrounded the area and kept on scratching their heads; and dozens of Italians were screaming and shouting for there perfectly ruined, perfectly expensive cars. Apparently, everybody's oblivious to what had happened a while back; and what was under that tons of debris.

Jason kept on looking on the pit that was covered in debris. He wanted to believe that Percy and Annabeth would come up from that stupid Tartarus and join them to kick some Gaea booty.

"Gods of Olympus..." Frank muttered, his eyes wide with shock.

"I know." Jason replied glumly, patting Frank's shoulders weakly. He turned around and observed the others.

He first saw Nico. He had messy and ruffled hair (as usual) and is still paler and weaker than ever. He was sitting at a wooden crate at one corner. He had his legs spread wide, elbows on his knees, and his face buried in the palms of his hands.

"Gods...feels so.....hopeless...should've helped.....what in Hades happened to me?". Then after several seconds, he got up and walked to toward Percy's cabin.

"I'm just gonna take a shower and think about..." Then his voice faltered. His hands turned into a fist. It was obvious he was gonna say how to help Percy and Annabeth but instead he said: "I'm just gonna sleep." And he walked towards his room and shut the door behind him.

Then, he saw Hazel, sitting on a bench next to the crate Nico was sitting on. She was surrounded by piles of gems and jewels, stirring her coffee and taking small sips occasionally, though the taste of it would never be the same as the way Annabeth's coffee would taste. Hazel's eyes looked far away, shattered and broken, and Jason knew that she was thinking of Annabeth and Percy. She saw Jason looking at her and forced to give him a small smile then looked away again in the far distance.

Then, he saw Leo. He was sitting on the deck on one corner with knees bent, touching his chin, arms wrapping around his knees and head buried under it. "I shouldn't have opened the fortune cookie..." He kept on muttering. His curly hair were curlier than ever. And from here, he can still smell Leo's scent; the scent of grease and burning fuel.

Jason felt sorry for him. Then again, if he didn't open it, then Frank and Hazel might as well be toast.

Next, he saw Piper. Pacing back and forth on the deck, holding Katoptris on her hand and yelling "Show me Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase!" She had her brows furrowed and her free hand turning to a fist. All she saw was several baseball games Coach Hedge would've loved to watch.

She wiped a tear from her cheek. She gripped her knife tighter then yelled, "Show me Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase!" Then the knife showed wisps of smoke then turned all black.

"Come on, please!" Piper desperately begged.

She waited for several seconds, and her knife showed her nothing. For a moment, her eyes turned black then went back into a kaleidoscope of colors. She became furious then threw her knife across the ship, which accidentally landed on Hazel's coffee cup then dropped on the floor. The coffee had spilled on Hazel's shirt which caused her to stand up abruptly.

"Oh gods, I'm so sorry!" Piper ran to the kitchen to get the tissue roll then handed it over to Hazel. "Here, let me help--"

"Honestly, Piper, it's okay." Hazel brushed away her hand gently, which seem to make Piper upset. "I just need to change my clothes, that's all."

"Oh okay. It's just that--- I'm so clumsy!"

"Everybody is, Piper. Nobody's perfect." Hazel smiled at her.

"Well, do you need some clothes? I have lots of it in my room." Piper offered.

"I-I guess so." Hazel agreed just to not make her upset.

Piper's face gleamed. "Okay, then. Come with me."

And they both left without another word.

After several seconds of agonizing silent, Jason saw Leo getting up, wiping a---was that a tear? from his eyes.

"Wait! L-Leo!" Jason called.

"Yeah?" Leo asked, stopping from his tracks.

"Well, do you need someone to talk to?"

"No, it's okay, Jason. I'm fine."

"Well, if you need someone to talk to, um, you can talk to me, I mean, if you want. " Jason offered.

"Okay, Jason. I will." Leo plastered a smile.

"Oh, and um, I might call after you, if we need you, or if we're gonna you know, set sail now for Greece or to Camp Half- Blood." Jason added.

"Well, okay. Um, I'll be down on the cockpit. Looking at the scrolls." Leo said. And with that, Leo headed downstairs.

Jason nodded. He turned around and leaned against the railing, looking at the hole once more. He only needs five minutes. Five more minutes before they set course to Camp Half- Blood.

He sighed. He just needed to make sure if Percy and Annabeth would come up from that hole. Or not.
