Going home

Kaylee PoV
Today was the day I could finally go home. Over the last few days I've had physical therapy to strengthen my leg muscles as I haven't used them in a while. I can walk for a little while but my legs get tired really quick.
Will: how you feeling?
Kaylee: can't wait to get out of here
Will: I know I don't say this often but I'm so proud of you trouble. You had us worried for a little bit but I'm glad you're okay
He gave me a hug
Kaylee: where's dad?
Will: I told him to go home and have a shower. He was starting to stink.
Kaylee: oh okay. When can I go home?
Will: when your dad gets here
Kaylee: can't you just sign the papers?
Will: I'm not supposed to
Kaylee: please uncle will I just wanna go home
Will: no Kaylee
Kaylee: uncle will please I've been stuck here forever I just wanna go home. I miss my bed
Will: fine get ready whilst I sign the papers
He passed me over a bag and it had fresh clothes in. I got dressed and Uncle will walked in with Connor
Connor: I hear someone can't wait to go home
Kaylee: I love you but I miss my bed
Before anyone says anything he's dating my uncle so he's family
Connor: understandable.
I gave him a hug
Connor: I'll see you soon okay. Me, Justin and Daisy will come and see you soon
Me and will left and he drove me home.
Will: you'll do physical therapy twice a week and some exercise at home
Kaylee: do you think I'll be able to play soccer?
Will: not for a while maybe next semester. We need to get your strength up first

We arrived home and dad's car was still here. I walked up the stairs and headed to dad's room and knocked on the door. The door opened.
Dad: Kaylee
Kaylee: hi dad
Dad: what are you doing home?
Kaylee: will discharged me
He gave me a hug.
Dad: I'm so happy you're home
Kaylee: can we have a movie night?
Dad: of course we can
Kaylee: can I have a shower? I feel disgusting
Dad: yeah just be careful. Shout me if you need any help okay. And keep the door a little open
Kaylee: okay
I went to my room and picked out some clothes for after. It was only one of dad's T-shirts and a pair of grey sweatpants. I got in the shower

Jay PoV
Kaylee was in the shower and I was setting out snacks and drinks. Kaylee came downstairs.
Kaylee: dad can you braid my hair?
Jay: sure honey sit on the chair. 2 braids?
Kaylee: yeah please
I grabbed a comb, hairbrush and two bands. I started doing her hair
Jay: so I was thinking
Kaylee: oh no that's never a good sign
Jay: hey cheeky anyway what if we do a group movie night?
Kaylee: okay?
Jay: if you're not up to it it's fine
Kaylee: not a lot of people tho
Jay: you can pick who comes over
Kaylee: can I message them?
Jay: sure
She got out her phone and just started typing
Kaylee: done
Jay: who's coming?
Kaylee: grampa, Justin, Kelly, Shay, Dawson, Matt, uncle Will, Connor, Tessa and Zach. Antonio is babysitting the kids
Jay: okay that's cool
I finally finished her hair. She looked at it through her camera
Kaylee: thanks dad it looks so good
There was a knock at the door.
Kaylee: I'll get it
She opened the door and then I heard it shut. It was Zach, Tessa and Will
Will: hey trouble
Kaylee: hi uncle Will
Kaylee came into the kitchen
Kaylee: me, Tessa and Zach are going upstairs
Jay: I'll call you down when the films ready
Kaylee: thanks dad

Kaylee PoV
We all sat on my bed
Tessa: we've missed you so much
Kaylee: you never visited. Neither of you did
Tessa: We wasn't allowed because of the trial
Kaylee: what trial?
Zach: oh no one told you
I went downstairs
Kaylee: what am I hearing about a trial?
Dad: Kaylee honey let's go and talk
Kaylee: no why didn't you tell me?
Dad: I want you to have at least one good day before you have to deal with all this shit
I walked outside and sat on the porch steps. Kelly and Justin turned up and sat beside me
Justin: what's going on?
Kaylee: they didn't tell me about the trial. I don't even know what's happening
Dad came outside
Dad: I'm sorry I didn't tell you it's just I didn't want you to worry.
Kaylee: what's happening?
Dad: the case went to trial and because they're minors they were let off fairly lightly.
Kaylee: what did they get?
Dad: Lillie has 40 hours of community service, Daisy has 35 hours of community service, Taylor has 30 days in juvie and 3 months of probation
Kaylee: what about Meghan?
Dad: She has 60 days in juvie and 6 months of probation where she also has to complete 20 hours of community service. She has to attend anger management. There's also a restraining order against them so they can't come near you
Kaylee: what about school?
Dad: they've been expelled
It felt like a weight had been lifted.
Kaylee: I'm sorry for overreacting
Dad: I should have talked to you about it
Kaylee: it's fine dad honestly
Dad: want pizza?
Kaylee: pepperoni please
Dad: you gonna come inside
Kaylee: I'm gonna stay out here for a few minutes.
Dad went in with Kelly
Justin: what's on your mind?
Kaylee: in the coma Brandon was with me. It felt so real. When dad told me he was dead I felt everything come back from the last time. I don't think I can go through that again.
I just broke down crying and Justin gave me a side hug.
Justin: you know you can always talk to me right? Whenever you need me okay I'm here. If it's 3am or during school I'm here okay
I just nodded
Justin: you ready to go back in?
Kaylee: yeah
Justin: come on then tigger

We went inside and everyone was here
Kaylee: when did you guys show up?
Matt: like 5 minutes ago
Grampa: we went through the back
Kaylee: oh okay
Dad: I've ordered pizza should be here any minute
Shay: so what's it like being back home?
Kaylee: I've missed it and I've missed all of you
Kelly: how you feeling kiddo?
Kaylee: I'm fine
He looked at me with a 'don't lie to me' look. I walked into the kitchen and he followed
Kelly: how are you really feeling?
Kaylee: I'm feeling like I don't wanna be here. Everything was so much simpler and happier when I was in the coma. I was with Brandon the whole time and it was fun. I missed him and I wanted to stay there with him. I'm only here because Brandon said it wasn't my time and I couldn't leave dad. Dad said that if I couldn't keep fighting then I could go. In that moment in time I nearly did. I nearly gave up. I knew that if I did that it would break dad. I mean look at when B died. If I died he'd probably drink himself to death or kill himself. I'm only here for dad
Kelly: everything will get better and you'll enjoy life again. You'll go on tour to Spain with your soccer team. You'll win 1st place in all your track and field events. You'll marry Zach. Not anytime soon but in the future. There's all these things to look forward to and I'll need your help with something
Kaylee: what?
Kelly: I'll tell you when the time comes
Kaylee: just give me an idea
Kelly: well you're gonna be my ring bearer
Kaylee: no fucking way. Really?
Kelly: yep
I gave him a massive hug
Kelly: don't say anything tho no one's knows
Kaylee: can I help you ask him?
Kelly: sure
Dad: we're picking a film
Me and kelly went back into the living room. Me, Tessa and Zach laid on the floor whilst the adults had the chairs. Will was next to Kelly, dad was next to Hailey, Shay was next to Dawson, Connor was next to Justin and grandpa and Matt sat together
Justin: so what film we watching?
Dad: paranormal activity
Kaylee: can we see how many we get through?
Dad: sure
Just as dad was about to press play the pizza arrived
Kaylee: thank fuck. Finally some real food
Hailey: kiddo watch your mouth
Kaylee: sorry
Dad walked in with like 4 boxes of pizzas. I took a box and shared it with Tessa and Zach. I took a bite of the pizza
Kaylee: oh my god this is fucking amazing
Hailey: Kaylee
Kaylee: what this is the first proper food I've had in a while. hospital food tastes like shit
Dad: language kiddo
I dropped a slice of pizza back in the box
Kaylee: shit
Dad looked at me
Kaylee: fuck sorry shit I swore again
Everyone started laughing
Justin: we've missed you tigger
