Anxiety

For the last couple of days Haileys been sick like this morning she was sick a few times. Because of this dad is gonna drag her to the doctor's office because Hailey keeps blaming her lactose intolerance but dad thinks it's something else. I was at school when I messaged dad
Kaylee: you still at the doctors?
Dad: yeah you okay?
Kaylee: is hailey gonna be okay?
Dad: she's in with the doctor now okay. I don't want you to be worried
Kaylee: who's picking me up?
Dad: possibly Kelly
Kaylee: okay
Dad: I'll speak to you later okay
Miss Walker: Kaylee phone away please
Kaylee: sorry
Zach: everything okay?
Kaylee: I dunno Haileys sick so dad took her to the doctors
Zach: I'm sure it's nothing to worry about
Kaylee: I guess
Zach: you wanna go out after school?
Kaylee: I dunno
Zach: come on it will be fun
Kaylee: fine
He gave me a kiss
Miss Walker: can we have no kissing in the classroom please?
We all started laughing. After I zoned out I was thinking about what could be wrong with hailey. What if she dies? What if she has like cancer or something? What if somethings seriously wrong? I tried to shake away my thoughts
Miss Walker: Kaylee you okay?
Kaylee: can I erm can I use my time out pass?
Miss Walker: sure you need to go Miss Jackson?
Kaylee: yeah if that's okay
Miss Walker: yeah of course

I went to Miss Jackson's office but she was in a meeting. She came out to speak to me
Miss Jackson: you okay?
Kaylee: you're busy
Miss Jackson: do you need to speak to me?
Kaylee: no it's fine I'm just being stupid
Miss Jackson: go to the sensory room and I'll come and see you after my meeting.
Kaylee: okay
I went to the sensory room and just sat on a beanbag. I couldn't stop this feeling that something bad was gonna happen. I started pacing up and down and I didn't know what to do. I wanted to call dad but I don't want to worry him, I tried everyone else and they didn't answer but one.
Kelly: Kaylee what's up?
Kaylee: I'm feeling too much and I can't make it stop and my whole heads a mess and
Kelly: woah woah woah slow down for me
Kaylee: I just feel so anxious and I don't know how to stop it
Kelly: has anything happened to make you feel like this?
Kaylee: Haileys ill so dad dragged her to the doctors. What if it's something bad? What if she's dying?
Kelly: you can't think like that okay. It will only drive you mad. You want me to come and get you?
Kaylee: yes please

Kelly pov
I went to Bodens office
Kelly: chief I need to take a personal put Cruz as acting lieutenant
Boden: everything okay?
Kelly: Kaylees really anxious and she can't calm down
Boden: that's fine
I left and made my way to Kaylees school. I phoned Jay on my way
Kelly: Jay
Jay: hey kelly what's up?
Kelly: you spoken to Kaylee?
Jay: not since this morning. Why has something happened?
Kelly: her anxiety
Jay: about Hailey?
Kelly: yeah. Has she been seen yet?
Jay: yeah just now everything's fine
Kelly: they say what it is?
Jay: yeah but we don't want to tell anyone yet
Kelly: no way she's pregnant?
Jay: yeah but please don't tell Kaylee yet. We want to surprise her
Kelly: I'm so happy for you both
Jay: thank you
Kelly: right well I'm gonna sign her out and take her back to the firehouse

I walked over to the reception desk
Kelly: morning I'm here to pick up Kaylee Halstead. She rang me not feeling well
Receptionist: you know what class she's in?
Kelly: I believe she's with Miss Jackson
Receptionist: thank you I'll just radio for her
Kelly: thank you
After about 5 minutes later Kaylee made her way towards me. She gave me a hug straight away and I could feel her tears running onto my shirt.
Kelly: you're okay. Everything's okay
Kaylee: I'm sorry
Kelly: there's nothing to be sorry about out
Kaylee: you had to come here from work
Kelly: hey you're more important than work. I'll always be here for you. You ready to go
She just nodded. We walked to the car and made our way to the firehouse.
Kelly: I spoke to your dad and Haileys fine it's just a stomach bug
Kaylee: really?
Kelly: yeah she'll be absolutely fine
Kaylee: can I watch a film on your iPad?
Kelly: yeah it's in my quarters
Kaylee: thank you
We arrived at the firehouse and Kaylee went straight to my quarters
Shay: is she okay?
Kelly: yeah it was her anxiety getting the best of her. She's okay now tho
Shay: where is she?
Kelly: she's in my quarters

Jay pov
Hailey: is everything okay?
Jay: yeah it's just she was anxious about your doctors appointment. She was thinking worst case scenarios
Hailey: she know?
Jay: No but Kelly knows
Hailey: ah Jay I thought Kaylee was gonna be the first one we tell
Jay: she will be I didn't tell Kelly he guessed
Hailey: so what did kelly tell her?
Jay: I have no idea and I don't even think I wanna know
I gave her a hug and kissed her
Hailey: what was that for?
Jay: I'm just so happy. Should we tell Kaylee?
Hailey: I wanna wait until the first trimester is over just in case
Jay: okay
Hailey: let's go and see our girl
We left the doctors and went to the firehouse. Kelly was sat at the squad table
Kelly: hi guys
Hailey: hey where's Kaylee?
Kelly: Cruz is making her something to eat
Hailey: okay thanks
He looked around
Kelly: congratulations
He gave Hailey a hug
Kelly: I'm so happy for you both
Hailey: thank you. We're gonna keep it quiet. Just until the first trimester is over
Kelly: understandable
Jay: We should go get Kaylee
Kelly: you not got work?
Jay: nah pops gave me the day off
Kelly: fairs
Jay: I'll speak to you later
Kelly: okay
We went up and Kaylee was eating.
Hailey: hey kiddo
She stood up and gave Hailey a hug
Kaylee: you're okay?
Hailey: I'm fine
Kaylee: Kelly said it was just a stomach bug
Hailey: yeah I'll be fine in a few days
Kaylee: that's good
