Story of a 14 yr old girl whose trying to live a normal life whilst living with epilepsy. How will she cope with the stress of school, medical issues and life?
A couple weeks later i was doing better at school. Dr Charles put me back on my anxiety medication. Me and Zach have gotten a lot closer. Dad: Kaylee come on you're gonna be late. I grabbed my phone and AirPods and ran downstairs. Dad wasn't down here so i guess he was already in the car. I went out to the car and got in. Dad: you sure take your time Kaylee: sorry Dad: right no trouble today please Kaylee: yeah yeah Dad: i mean it Kaylee. If i get a call from the school you're grounded Kaylee: what if it's for a good reason? He gave me an 'are you serious?' look. We arrived at school Dad: what are you doing after school? Kaylee: i finish at lunch so kelly said he'll pick me up Dad: okay just keep me updated Kaylee: okay. Bye love you Dad: bye love you too. Be good Kaylee: Be safe
I walked to homeroom Miss Walker: you're late Kaylee Kaylee: only by a minute. Dad got a flat tire so my uncle had to pick me up and drop me Miss Walker: I'll let you off this one time Kaylee: thank you I sat next to Zach and Tessa Zach: did that really happen? Kaylee: nope Tessa: damn you're good Kaylee: what can i say? Miss Walker: Kaylee, Zach and Frankie can i have a word outside please? Kaylee: I haven't done anything Miss Walker: Kaylee just step outside please I got up and walked outside. Miss Walker: you 3 have the most negative behaviour points in your grade. There's gonna be meetings with your parents to discuss the next steps forward. Zach: but it's not my fault Miss Walker: I understand that things are more challenging for you than others so that's what the meeting will be about. It's not necessarily a negative thing it's just so we can put things in place to support you All: okay Miss Walker: go take a seat We walked back in the class Tessa: what was this about? Kaylee: a load of bullshit Miss Walker: Language Kaylee The bell went and it was time for our next lesson. Me and Zach stayed behind to grab our reports. Targets: 1) Don't be late ✅ 2) follow all instructions ❌ 3) don't talk out of turn ✅ 4) don't get distracted ✅ Comments: Slight refusal of instructions. GW
We walked to English with Mr French. Mr French: today we are gonna have a little quiz. It's only gonna be on what we've learnt. Great. Let's get ready to fail another quiz. Mr French: could the following students take your quiz and pencil and head to Miss Jackson's office? Kaylee, Zach, Frankie, Freddie, Talia and Morgan. He gave us our reports and we got up and walked to her office. We sat down and got on with the test. I did only one question before walking out. Miss Jackson came out after me. Miss Jackson: what's going on kid? Kaylee: I can't do it. Nothing makes sense the words are all jumbled and it's frustrating. I'm not doing it. Miss Jackson: what if I give you an overlay? See if that helps Kaylee: okay Miss Jackson: what colour? Kaylee: blue We walked in and I sat down whilst she looked for an overlay. She passed me one but it wasn't helping. I ripped up the quiz and walked out. Miss Jackson: Kaylee Kaylee: no I can't do it. I'm not doing it
I went to coach's office. Coach Evans: what's up kiddo? Don't you have a lesson? Kaylee: I couldn't do the quiz so I walked out. Coach Evans: Who's your teacher? Kaylee: mr French but I'm with Miss Jackson Coach Evans: I'll message her and let her know you're with me Kaylee: can I stay here? Coach Evans: sure kid. I have a free period We sat down and he passed me over a fruit bowl from his mini fridge Coach Evans: you like fruit kid? Kaylee: yeah I started eating it. He left and came back with my report Coach Evans: you wanna talk about anything? Kaylee: not really He gave me my report and I looked at it Targets: 1) Don't be late ✅ 2) follow all instructions ✅ 3) don't talk out of turn ✅ 4) don't get distracted ✅ Comments: tore up quiz and walked out of the room. Coach Evans: game of HORSE Kaylee: bet We played and I won then the bell went Coach Evans: you okay to go to your next lesson? Kaylee: yeah Coach Evans: if you need me you know where to find me okay? Kaylee: thanks He took my report and wrote in it beneath Miss Jackson's comment Comment: came down to my office after walking out of FJs lesson. Was really frustrated but managed to calm down without losing temper. RE
I walked to art with mr brown. I sat at the back with Zach and Tessa and just got on with the work. We had to paint a picture. I painted this one:

Mr Brown: wow Kaylee that's amazing Kaylee: thanks sir Mr Brown: do you like art Kaylee? Kaylee: kind of it's just peaceful ya know He just nodded Mr Brown: would you mind if I hung this up? Kaylee: really? Mr Brown: yeah I love it Kaylee: sure I guess He looked at zachs which was the same just with different characters Mr Brown: same with you Zach can I hang yours up as well Zach: it's really not that good Mr Brown: it looks amazing Zach: oh erm sure The bell rang and we were putting our stuff away getting ready to leave Mr Brown: see you next week you may leave. Zach and Kaylee just wait for a second I turned to Tessa Kaylee: Tess could you save us a table? Tessa: sure She left Zach: are we in trouble? Mr Brown: are you ever in trouble in my lesson Zach: No Mr Brown: this is the best work I've seen from you both Zach: thanks Mr Brown: I'm proud with your behaviour and your work. I'll be phoning your parents. Don't worry it will be a positive phone call. I don't wanna keep you any longer. Grab your reports and you're free to go We got our reports and left. We made our way to the canteen where Tessa had the whole table to herself. Tessa: everything good? Kaylee: yeah I looked at my report Targets: 1) Don't be late ✅ 2) follow all instructions ✅ 3) don't talk out of turn ✅ 4) don't get distracted ✅ Comments: Really focused and got on with the work. Worked fantastically all lesson without distraction. Produced some incredible work. Positive phone call home. DB
We ate our lunch and it was now time for me to go home. Tessa walked away with Harry leaving just me and Zach. Me and Zach were still sat down. He was just staring at me. Kaylee: have I got something in my face? Zach: no Kaylee: then why are you staring at me? Zach: you're really pretty I can't lie that made me blush. Zach: I've got something to ask you? Kaylee: okay? Zach: would you be my girlfriend? Kaylee: yeah He gave me a kiss. Kaylee: you finished now as well? Zach: yeah Kaylee: you wanna come to the firehouse? Zach: sure let me just ask my mom Kaylee: okay We went to Miss Walker to get her to sign our reports. We gave her reports to Miss Walker for her to sign. Miss Walker: better than usual but still room for improvement. I'll see you both tomorrow Kaylee: bye Miss We walked outside and kelly was waiting Kaylee: Zach you allowed? Zach: yeah We got in the car. Kelly: wasn't expecting you today Zach Kaylee: sorry I went to message you but I got distracted Kelly: it's fine Kaylee: what are we gonna do at the firehouse? Kelly: well you could help Cruz cook? Kaylee: maybe We arrived at the firehouse Cruz: hey trouble. Hi Zach Both: hey Kaylee: Can I help? Cruz: sure We were cooking and Zach went off with Kelly. I ate then went home
