It has been 2 weeks since Yeonjun last spent time with his family, and in the intervening time, he has been noticeably more emo than normal. Well, that's what Niki thinks.
At least he noticed that he had been coming out of his room more frequently and keeping it tidy, which was a positive change. However, he is concerned because Yeonjun hasn't smiled in what seems like an eternity.
Yeonjun is typically known for his bright and cheerful demeanor, always showing a smile and radiating positivity. So, it is quite unusual to witness him in a state like this.
As Niki lounges on the sofa, engrossed in his tv show, he notices Yeonjun coming out from his bedroom, looking tired. Yeonjun rubs his eyes as he makes his way to the kitchen, searching for something to eat.
He reaches into the cabinet and pulls out a package of ramen noodles, then goes to the stove to grab a pot and fill it with water to boil.
"Yeonjun." Niki calls out.
Yeonjun responds to Niki by humming a tune, indicating that he is listening to what Niki is gonna say. Meanwhile, he is preoccupied with the task of preparing the ramen noodles by placing them in the boiling water. The sound of the bubbling water fills the room as Yeonjun focuses on getting the meal ready.
"Are you okay?" Niki asked.
Yeonjun's relaxed body soon became tensed up after he heard Niki's question. Niki immediately noticed the change in his body language and expression.
Yeonjun paused before answering his question, "I'm fine." He says quickly.
Yeonjun stirs his noodles, carefully adding the sauce powder for a burst of flavor. Meanwhile, Niki hits pause on his show, rising from the comfort of the couch to make his way over to the kitchen.
"Really, you're fine?" Yeonjun nods, Niki continues, "Because you don't seem fine to me." He says as he reaches for the refrigerator door and pulls it open. His hand reached for the water bottle. With a quick twist of the cap, he brings the bottle to his lips and takes a refreshing sip.
Yeonjun switches off the stove and grabs a bowl for his noodles before pondering out loud, "What makes it seem like I'm not okay?" He continues the conversation.
Niki let out a small laugh before speaking, "Come on, Hyung, it's written all over your face. Just tell me what's bothering you." With a mischievous grin, Niki approached Yeonjun and playfully snatched the bowl of noodles from his hands, eagerly slurping up the delicious strands of noodles.
"What the hell?! Give me back my noodles, Niki. Go make yourself noodles instead of stealing mine!" Yeonjun let out an exasperated sigh, rolling his eyes in annoyance as he quickly grabbed his bowl of noodles and chopsticks back from Niki. He wasted no time diving back into his meal, slurping up the noodles.
Niki chuckled as he tried to speak with a mouth full of food, "Alright, alright, but can you please fill me in on what's been happening with you or what's been on your mind lately?" He asked.
As he sat there patiently, hoping for a reply from Yeonjun, he was met with nothing but silence as Yeonjun remained focused on slurping up his noodles, completely ignoring his presence.
