The living room was dimly lit, the glow of the television casting shadows across the walls. The explosions and shouting from the action movie reverberated through the apartment, making it feel alive despite the otherwise quiet evening.

Yeonjun sat slouched on the couch, idly scrolling through his phone, completely ignoring the chaotic scene playing out on the screen.

Niki, his younger brother, sat cross-legged on the floor with a comically oversized bowl of popcorn perched on his lap.

He wasn't just watching the movie-he was fully immersed, leaning forward with every dramatic moment as though he were part of the action.

"You're not even watching!" Niki threw a piece of popcorn at Yeonjun's head, his expression filled with mock betrayal.

Yeonjun flicked the popcorn off his hoodie without looking up. "The acting's trash," he muttered.

"Trash?" Niki spun around, his tone dripping with offense. "This is one of the greatest action movies of all time. You wouldn't know cinematic art if it hit you in the face."

Yeonjun didn't bother responding, already zoning out again. But then, the sound of his phone vibrating on the coffee table broke through the noise. It buzzed insistently, drawing both their gazes.

When Yeonjun saw the name on the screen, his stomach twisted into knots. Kara.

Niki noticed immediately. "Are you just gonna stay frozen, or are you gonna answer it?"

"Shut up," Yeonjun hissed, sitting up straight. He grabbed the phone but didn't answer it, his thumb hovering over the screen as his mind raced.

Niki smirked, shoving another handful of popcorn into his mouth. "What's the big deal? It's just Kara."

"Just Kara?" Yeonjun shot him a glare. "It's been-what? Months since we talked? Why the hell is she calling now?"

"Hmm, maybe because she remembered you slept with her brother?" Niki teased, grinning wickedly.

"That's not funny," Yeonjun snapped, his face heating up. "And it wasn't like that."

"Oh, sorry. What was it like then? Enlighten me, Casanova."

Before Yeonjun could argue, Niki snatched the phone from his hand and hit the answer button.

"What are you doing?!" Yeonjun lunged for the phone, but Niki dodged him easily, holding it just out of reach.

"Relax," Niki said with a mischievous grin, putting the call on speaker.

"...Hey, Yeonjun," Kara's voice came through the speaker, soft and hesitant.

Yeonjun froze, his heart pounding. He glared at Niki, mouthing furiously, What the hell?!

Niki only shrugged, clearly enjoying the show.

"Hi," Yeonjun finally managed, his voice coming out quieter than he intended.

Niki leaned back, shoving more popcorn into his mouth as though he were watching the climax of a drama.
