The tension in the room became almost suffocating as Beomgyu’s angry words echoed in Soobin’s ears. His chest tightened painfully, the knot of fear in his stomach twisting even further. He could feel his pulse throbbing in his temples, his hands trembling slightly in his lap. Yeonjun, always the calm one, was now standing tense beside him, eyes narrowing in a mix of confusion and frustration.

Soobin could barely breathe. He didn’t know what to say, how to defend himself. The guilt that had been slowly consuming him since the morning was now rising to the surface, threatening to drown him.

Beomgyu’s eyes burned with frustration and betrayal. He stood up, his voice sharp as he jabbed a finger in their direction. "Don’t even try to pretend that nothing happened! You’ve been acting like you’re the only ones with a secret. Do you think I didn’t notice how you’ve been acting around each other all day? How long did you think you could keep this from us?"

Soobin’s throat tightened, his heart beating erratically. He glanced over at Yeonjun, silently begging for him to say something, to make this stop, but Yeonjun's face had hardened, his usual calm composure cracking. He took a step forward, his voice measured but tense.

"Beomgyu, you need to calm down. You're blowing this out of proportion," Yeonjun said, trying to maintain control of the situation. "We can talk about this—"

"Blowing this out of proportion?" Beomgyu snapped, cutting him off. His voice was shaking with anger now. "You promised her nothing would happen! You promised, Yeonjun! And now what? You two think you can just hide this? She’s going to find out eventually!"

Soobin’s breath caught in his throat. His worst fear, the fear that had been gnawing at him all day, was becoming a reality right in front of him. "Beomgyu, please," he whispered, his voice shaky, "we didn’t mean for this to happen."

Beomgyu’s eyes flashed, his frustration boiling over. "You didn’t mean for this to happen? Then why did you let it? How could you do this to her? To all of us?" His voice cracked at the end, the weight of his own hurt slipping through the cracks.

Soobin flinched at the accusation, his guilt crashing over him like a wave. "I— I don’t know…"

Yeonjun stepped in again, his voice firm this time. "Look, it’s not like we planned this. Things just happened, okay? But we’re going to fix it."

Beomgyu scoffed, his fists clenched tightly at his sides. "Fix it? How are you going to fix this? You’ve already messed everything up. You think telling her after dinner is going to make it all better? She’s going to hate you for lying!"

Yeonjun’s jaw clenched, his patience clearly wearing thin. "We know we screwed up, Beomgyu. But screaming at us isn’t going to help anything. We’re going to handle it, alright?"

But Beomgyu wasn’t backing down. His eyes flickered with a mix of anger and something more—hurt, betrayal. "No, you’re not! You’ve already made a mess of things, and now you’re acting like it’s no big deal. You think she won’t care? You think she’ll just forgive you?"

Soobin’s heart was pounding in his ears, the weight of the moment crushing him. He wanted to explain, to make Beomgyu understand that it wasn’t supposed to happen this way. But the words felt stuck in his throat, heavy with guilt and fear.

Taehyun, who had been sitting quietly on the couch, finally spoke up, his voice steady but concerned. "Beomgyu, this isn’t the time to—"

But Beomgyu cut him off sharply, his voice rising. "No, Taehyun, this is the time! They’ve been sneaking around, lying to her, and now what? They think they can just brush it under the rug? It’s not fair!"
