"Mahi!" Amma said in excitement as tears glistened in her eyes. She pulled me in a tight hug, I missed the feeling of the warmth that came with her embrace. I tightened my grip around her body as I felt her pull away, "I missed you so much," I wanted to stay in her arms for alittle while.

"I missed you too," I whispered to her, as I enjoyed being in her arms after so long. 

"What about me?" Baba said gently touching my back, I pulled away from her and hugged him tightly as well. 

"I missed you both Baba," I laughed emotionally as tears rolled down my cheeks.  I hadnt even noticed how much I longed to be with my family since I was so lost in the world Rehan and I had created in New York don't get me wrong, I loved being with. him but home is home, and Hunstville is a place that I have considered my home for 22 years.  

"And me?" Roza said excitedly, but I turned in Baba's embrace and shook my head, "Not you, I am glad that I fianlly got a break from my annoying little sister."

"Baba!" Roza complained, 

Baba laughed, "Roza, quit being a baby."

I smirked at her, "Yeah Roza, quit being a baby." 

Amma shook her head, "Stop bothering her, you two."

We all look over at the Khan family having their little reunions not even two steps away but we were so lost in our little world, we did not even notice Kinza Ammi longing to hug Rehan as he avoided her as much as possible and stuck with Jannah Api,  and Ayaan Bhai. I breathe out heavily and walk towards them, and pull Kinza Ammi into a tight hug, "Kaisi ho aap?" (How are you okay?) I ask trying to lighten her mood. 

Kinza Ammi hugged me back, "Ab theek hoon," (I'm okay now)

I gently rub her back,  "Give him some time, I am sure he'll come around."  I whispered to her,  "If he doesn't, Im always here to bring him back on track."

Ammi smiled as she pulled away,  "Thank you,"

I smile softly at her as well,  before. greeting the rest of the family members, I hug Jannah Api gently,  "How's the baby?"  I ask. 

"Babying,"  She said smiling brightly at me before she touched my stomach, "Is good news coming soon from you?"

My cheeks began to burn, "Api, let me finish college."

Jannah Api chuckled, "I am just joking, it's too soon to be asking for. a niece or nephew anyways."

I breathed out heavily and stood beside Rehan,  "Go say hi to Ammi," I whispered to him, He looked down at me, "Rehan, go." 

Rehan rolled his eyes before walking towards her, and offering her a side hug before walking back to stand beside me, "Rehan," I say firmly, 

"Stop," He said back just as firmly, "I mean it."

I shrunk back feeling helpless about the distance between the two, as everyone began walking to their cars. I stayed behind walking with Api, "Ammi was so excited to see you two again."

I sigh, "I know, but what can I do Api, he is just so hostile when it comes to Kinza Ammi."  

"Well Ammi hasn't really been so loving towards him either," She said, "She is a control freak,  and tried to control Rehan, has. been. trying to control Ayaan Bhai and I. but is failing because we have Baba's support now. For Bhai, Baba. had no say, no control. because Ammi was so infatuated with this marriage. . .no one knows why, but she made it happen, and now. . ."
