Mahinoor's P.O.V.

"Mahi," Tejo whined over the phone as I did Roza's hair, as we got ready for Api's dholki event. I had my airpods in so it was safe to talk about the current situation she was going through, "What should I do?"

I cleared my throat, "Come back to Hunstville,"

"Mahi," She said my name firmly, "That-"

"We'll figure it out together," I say, as I put some products in Roza's hair, "I promise,"

Roza breathed out heavily, "Tejo Api," She took the phone from me disconnecting the Bluetooth, "Come here to Hunstville, and try to convince Massi and Masard, before Azlaan hai finds out."

She sighed, "Fine, I'll come in a few days, do you know when Azlaan is going to come with Jiya?"

"I think Rehan was in a few days as well, I do not know the exact day," I reply, taking the phone back. "I'll ask Bhai myself tonight, and let you know."

Tejo groaned, "Fine, let me know as. soon as possible because then I have to book my ticket too."

"Got it," I say before hanging up the phone. Roza turned to face me, "What?" I ask her.

"Api you need to tell Bhai before he finds out from a third person. He will be so mad." Roza said. as I sat down on her bed knowing she was one hundred percent right. "Api, I know you made a promise to Tejo Api but he is your husband."

Swallowing harshly I felt stuck between two very important people in my life. Tejo has always been by my side, through thick and thin, while Rehan has slowly but surely built a strong foundation of love and trust in my heart too. I loved both of them equally but with this situation, it meant hurting one person's trust. . . either Rehans or Nehmats. "Api." Roza tried to get my attention. "Tell him."

"Roza," I sigh, "Look let me figure out when Azlaan Bhai and Jiya are coming here, and then I will see what to do. Please, just dont say anything before. I can think of a way to get out of this safely."

She nodded, "Thank you," Standing up I looked at myself one last time before pulling her out of the room and to Jannat Api's dhawat.

. . .

Rehan smiled as my family and I walked back into their home, as he came and grabbed my hand pulling me to stand beside him as Khala and Khalu welcomed their new in-laws into the house, aka Jamal's parents, Yusuf Khalu and Ramsha Khala. I breathed in heavily as I saw Jamal duck through the front. door with an anxious look on his face. "Something. doesnt feel right," I whispered to Rehan who had an irritated look on his face. No one in this house liked Jamal, he was arrogant, rude, and extremely full of himself. Jannah Api's gaze was down on the ground as she nervously played with her fingers, "Rehan," I tried to get his attention tugging at his hand alittle but he ignored me as he was to busy glaring at Jamal.

Rolling my eyes at him I gently take my hand out of his and go to stand beside Api and hold her hand for support as Khala was too busy trying to please Ramsha Khala who was behaving extremely rude towards her as we all began walking towards the living room and. away from the. front door. Amma and Baba obviously were noticing everything as well but were too afraid to speak up against their behavior.

"Api," I whispered to her,

Her eyes were glazed over with tears, she looked just as desperate as I felt, clenching my jaw I glared at Jamal as well. "Jamal," I said loud and clear.
