Mahinoor's P.O.V.
"Rehan, I cannot come over right now." I protest as I frantically do Roza's hair as I am done getting ready earlier than she was. "Please try and understand, I had already laid out the kurta that matches my lengha."
"Mahi," He whined, "Please come over, I do not like this one though." Groaning I curl the last strand of her hair and quickly begin to pin some pieces behind her ears. "Mahi,"
"Alright!" I give in not wanting to continue this another ten minutes as we have already, "Give me five minutes." Quickly hanging up the phone I spray alittle hairspray on Roza's style and begin to grab my things. "I will meet you all there," I say to her before rushing out the door, down the stairs, out the main door, and down to their home.
Walking into the home without knocking I rush up to Rehan's room. Knocking. I wait for him to open the door, and within seconds he pulls me in, I gasp considering the whiplash he just gave me, but as my vision re-focuses, I see him standing infront of me ready. "Rehan!" I protest but he quickly leans in claiming my lips with his, muffling. all my protests. His hand tangles in my updue that I had Roza do seconds ago, and Rehan pulls me closer if possible. My hands wrap around his neck as I relax into his touch. We savior the feeling of one another's lips until I run out of air. Slightly pulling back I look up at him shyly, "So this is what you needed me here for?"
Rehan chuckled as he kept me close to him, "This and.. .I. wanted you to be able to tell me what you wanted to tell me last night, without interruptions. " My smile fell right away, his smile flattered alittle, "Mahi?"
I cleared my throat as my gaze dropped to play with the buttons that were on his kurta, "Promise you won't be mad?"
"Promise,"
"Tejo hasn't told her parents about Azlaan Bhai and Jiya," I said in one breath,
Rehan's smile fell completely as his grip loosened, "What?"
"Massi and Masard have really old-fashioned thinking Rehan. They have always wanted her to be married into a Sikh family because she is a Sikh. This inter-racial relationship concept hasn't sunk in for them but please do not think of Tejo as the villain here. Even with me, it took them forever to adjust and in the end, it was just. Tejo's stubbornness has kept me around. Tejo truly loves and admires both of them, it is just the-"
"Fear," He interrupted me, "I understand,"
Thank God, I know Tejo had asked me not to tell him, but no telling him would put our relationship in such an awkward position, which I never would want. "Tejo is coming tonight, to the function, and I was hoping to speak to Massi and Masard about it but if I have your support it will make it ten times easier."
Rehan smiled at me, "Of. course I will come to speak to them with you." Hugging him tightly, it felt as if a load had. been. taken. off of me, I hated. hiding such a big situation from him now that. I know, I have him with me, dealing with all of us will be so much easier.
Now the difficult part is to tell Tejo. . .
. . .
"Tejo!" Amma exclaimed. happily as she pulled her into a tight hug, Tejo flew in an hour. ago, after we spoke to one another last night. She was understandably really anxious about all of this and I still haven't gotten the chance to let her know that I told Rehan everything. Breathing out heavily I smiled softly at them waiting for my turn so I could take her somewhere secluded.
Tejo smiled at her softly as her expression changed to worry as soon as her eyes met mine behind her tagged along with Seva Massi and Randeep Masard. I took a deep breath in and greeted them in the way Tejo had taught me. "Sat Sri Akal."
