Mahinoor's P.O.V. (Two Weeks Later)
It's been two weeks since Roza had come over to our place, and since then Rehan and i's relationship has really taken a positive turn. He is more involved in my life, picks me up, and drops me off to college. We have been spending a lot of time together now, and it seems like he has completely sidelined Alizeh from his life. He barely mentions her anymore and in the past weeks he has maybe gone over to her house two times. It made me curious as to why and I did want to ask but I didn't want to hurt him or anger in him any way. We have fallen into a very healthy place and I wanted to keep it this way.
Tonight is Azlaan Bhai's birthday, so Rehan had asked me to get ready and come with him since Bhai had invited me too. "Mahi!" Rehan called my name as he waited for me outside, quickly fluffling my hair one last time, I rushed holding my clutch in one hand, and went outside to him.
"Here," I say in an apologetic tone, Rehan looks up at me, almost as if he is mesmerized, "What?" I ask shyly looking down at my dress, "Do I not look good?"
"No," Rehan said in a hushed tone, "You look good," He stood up straighter, "Really good actually."
Blushing I say, "Thank you"
Rehan breathed out heavily, "Let's go, " He said quickly opening the door for me, I cleared my throat. Lately, even if he does not notice it, I have noticed that he has been going out of his way. to make time for me. For example, after he came back home the next day after the concert. He made it his mission for Roza to have a good time, became our chauffeur and after she was gone the following week he helped around the house and just was behaving like a normal husband. Something that never in a million years thought I would experience.. I know these are little things, and I know that he is still. in contract with Alizeh, but these. little things, kind of gave me hope. . . and the strength to finally come to a realization that I may have a crush on my own husband. It sounded strange to my own ears but Rehan. . .he had a way to make his place in someones heart. . .and he has defintiely made his way into mine. I do not know if I have though. . .at times it seems so, but then at other times, it doesnt seem like it. He gives me mixed signals, and it is really all confusing. . . "Mahi!" Rehan said gently shaking my arm.
"Huh?" I said slightly jumping at his tone. Rehan gave me a bored look, "What happened?"
"We are here." He said, "I have been trying to get your attention for the past ten minutes. What are you thinking about?"
"Sorry," I breath out heavily, "Just lost in my own thoughts, um. . .do we have Bhai's gift?"
Rehan nodded, "Yeah, let's head in."
"Right," I say, getting out of the car along with him, and grabbing Bhai's gift. Rehan extended his hand for me, which I gladly grabbed nervous to meet Bhai's family, Rehan had said that he was always really protective of his family, especially his parents. Walking hand in hand inside, I was in awe of how beautiful the inside of his house is, some servants asked for our coats, which we handed to them. "Wow," I whispered.
"It's gorgeous right?" Rehan asked, "I was just in much of an awe. when I first came here."
"It is," I answer him,
"Chachu!" A little girl came rushing towards us, Rehan's face lit up. as he leaned down immediately scooping her up into his embrace and kissing her cheek, "Why haven't you come to visit us?" Wait, Chachu? Who's daughter, is she?
"Sorry," Rehan apologized, "Been busy with work Jiya,"
She crossed her arms as if she was mad, "Not fair Chahcu," I watched them interact with each other happily until Jiya caught my gaze, "Who is this?"
