Mahinoor's P.O.V.
"So, how is married life?" Tejo always asked me this question, I beleive it was a way for to check in on me and Rehan as well.
"It's good." I said taking a bite out of my burger, "I feel that we really have. adjusted to each other now Tejo, there is this mutual understanding, and comfort now. It's a comfortable situation to be in."
Tejo nodded slightly quieting down as Allie joined us, "Dude," She said slamming her tray down infront of us, "That Salman guy, will not stop looking over here."
I rolled my eyes as I leaned over to see him sitting on the other side of the campus cafeteria, and of. course his gaze was over at our table. Even after learning that I was married it didnt seem that his determination to have a proper conversation with me died down. I think he was mad that I had asked our professor if I could change partners with Tejo, as she had Zayn, and I had him, and since he had granted that change, I had her as my. partner now. This little exchange was obviously not appreciated by him.
"He is so stupid." Tejo said irritated, "Rehan even told him to back off and here he is thinking he can still get with you."
"Whatever," I said trying to brush off his oddly obsessive behavior, "Just ignore him."
"I was trying to," Allie said, "But then he tried to force a letter in my hand, to which I stomped on his foot. He is really creepy Mahi, I would tell Rehan if I were you."
"I will," Probably not. He had a lot to worry about, and I did not need to add this idiot to his list of worries. What is the worst he could do? Stare at me from afar? "Let's just eat, and head for class."
"I am almost done," Tejo said, glancing at him. "I seriously do not remember what you saw in him though, Rehan is so much better than him, in. every way."
He wasnt like this. . .I mean weird, odd, and stalkerish. He was a sweet and simple guy, the type of guy that would attract any girl towards him, what has happened to him over the years? I have no idea, and I had no intention of wanting to know either. I am married now, even if it is complicated, and I know my boundaries, and there. was no way I was going to be crossing them.
. . .
As Tejo and I walked to her car I got a phone call from Roza, "What's up?" I say quickly putting my stuff in the car, before sliding in myself.
"Guess what?" Roza said excitedly,
"What?" I say smiling as Tejo pulls out of the parking lot. We always made it a mission to leave before Salman and his group of friends came behind us. It seemed like no. matter where we parked, their car was always beside ours, so the only way to beat their little gang was to leave class early and leave early so we did not have to interact with them.
"Amma and Baba are letting me come to New York to visit you. this weekend!" My heart dropped to my stomach. Roza's little declaration left me speechless, Amma and Baba never let me travel alone, so how could they agree to send her alone?
Tejo looked at me worried, "Mahi?" She whispered.
My hands began to sweat, "No way," I forced out, "Wait, how did they even agree? I mean, they never even let us go out of town alone, so the country?"
"It took a lot of begging and pleading," Roza explained, "I really miss you Api, this is the longest we have been apart, and even Amma and Baba noticed how alone I am without you." Her words tugged at my heart, but the situation I was currently in was not really ideal. Rehan is supposed to go to Alizeh's house tonight for the Drake concert, and he is going to stay over there the whole weekend. What am I supposed to say to her when she asks where he is? Fuck! "Api?"
