When I woke up Pete wasn't next to me. I got out of bed and walked downstairs into the kitchen. I found a note on the counter from Pete, it said: I'm out with the guys be back in the morning. I sighed and threw the note away. "Guess he's stuck in traffic." I muttered to myself. "For the tenth time." I walked into the living room and went to sit in the couch but found Pete there, passed out. I shook him by his shoulder but he didn't move an inch. He must have drank a lot. I called Andy, he would know what to do.
"Hello?""Hey Andy, it's Ali."
"Oh hi Ali. Is everything okay?"
"No, not really. I just found Pete passed out on my couch, he wont move and I don't know what to do."
I heard Andy sigh on the other end. "I told him not to drink so much but he wouldn't listen."
"It's not your fault I know how stubborn he can be."
"Yeah.. Best to let him sleep it off but if you want to wake him try some cold water."
"Okay thanks Andy."
"No problem. See you."
"Bye."
I put the phone down and got a bucket filled with ice cold water and then pored it all over Pete. He screamed and jumped up from the couch.
"What the hell?"I just looked at him while he continued screaming and cursing.
"Are you done?" I asked when he finally fell quiet. "Because I'm done with this. Every morning you're gone and I find some stupid note in the kitchen telling me you'll be back in the morning but most days I don't see you again 'till 10 pm. And if you decide to show up you're always passed out on the couch of barely standing."
"Ali please, can we do this later? My head's killing me."
"No You're gonna listen to me." I yelled.
He squinted his eyes at me and I braced myself for what I knew was gonna come.""Listen to me you little brad. You're fifteen years old, I'm twenty-two you're not gonna tell me what I can and can't do. And you sure as hell are not gonna tell me how much I can drink. You should be thankful I even know you exist."
I stared at him without saying anything. Then I spun around and ran to my room. A couple minutes later I heard Pete coming up the stairs and knocking at my door. "Ali? Please... I shouldn't have said that."
When I didn't respond he started hitting the door and kicking it. "Dammit Ali just let me in.""Go away! I can't do this anymore."
"Fine!" And with that he left. I fell to the ground and curled into a little ball of sadness. He wasn't coming back this time. I lost him.
~
I nodded, I remembered perfectly. And I didn't like it.
"I'm so sorry for what I said. I didn't mean any if it. I know this is far to late but I'm sorry."
I forced a smile when I looked at him but it still hurt. It didn't matter what I thought or said, I wasn't over him and wanted him back so badly. "I know. I'm sorry too, I should've respected your choices."
Pete looked at our intertwined fingers and sighed. "I wish I could take it all back and go back to how we were before."
Yeah I do to.
"I know, but we can't. To much has happened. I still love you and always will but we can't go back."
He nodded. "I understand."
Suddenly he stood up, pulling me out of my seat and dragging me with him.
"Where are we going?"He grinned. "To a special place."
He held the door for me when I got in the car and then hurried to the other side. Just like before.
I had a pretty good idea of where he was taking me but I wasn't sure.
We drove for 20 minutes before Pete pulled over in a familiar parking lot. He held my door again and smiled when I got out. He took my hand and led me into the park. Memories I've been trying to forget floated to the surface and I smiled. I've missed it here. We walked to the giant tree in the back of the park and sat underneath it. He held my hand and rubbed small circles with his thumb. The silence lasted for at least ten minutes before Pete turned to me. "Would it solve anything if I said I barely drink anymore?"I shot straight up from where I was lying against the tree when I heard that. "Really? That's great!"
I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly. I'd missed this too. I took in as much of his smell as possible before I pulled away and smiled. "I'm really happy to hear that." Pete smiled at me and laid down on the grass. I laid down next to him, on his arm and closed my eyes. I wish this moment could last forever.
After a while Pete seemed to have fallen asleep, he was snoring a bit. Then out of nowhere, he put his other arm on top of me. I wanted to push it aside but he was still asleep and I didn't want to wake him. And I had to admit, I liked it.Hey Guys
Okay I know it's suuuuper late but I can explain. I haven't had a lot of time the last weeks and on top of that I fell from my horse and had a concussion. So I actually can't look at screens right now or I could have a really bad headache for like a year. But already had this so I'm just putting this up. I hope I can start writing again soon but I have to rest for like two weeks... Anyway, thank you for reading and please vote and comment
Love you
