3rd POV

Isla Nublar, home to the world's first, and only, Jurassic World. In a small makeshift bungalow by a large lake, not too far off the raptor paddock, a young boy was laying on a bed with his phone and earbuds, listening to music. He had H/l H/c hair and E/c eyes was was currently wearing black jeans and a blue top with the sleeves rolled up.

A motorcycle engine was heard stopping outside along with a cars engine which prompted the boy to take out his earbuds and get up from his bed before walking outside the bungalow to find Owen Grady along with the two camp councilors for the new Jurassic World attraction, Camp Cretaceous.

Guy: Hey, dad!

Owen: Hey, kid. What've you been up to?

Guy: Just listening to music and scrolling twitter to see what's going on back on the mainland. Anything I miss today at the paddock?

Owen: Nothing really. Delta's still being a pain in the ass and Blue's been bangin' at the cage door.

Guy: The paddock's door?

Owen: No, his door.

Guy: Ah.

Owen: Not what I came here to talk to you about. This is Dave and Roxie, councilors for Camp Cretaceous.

Y/n: Nice too meet you both. Name's Y/n Grady.

Roxie: Pleasure to be meeting you, Mr. Grady.

Y/n: Please, Y/n's just fine. Mr. Grady is a bit too formal for my liking. More of my dads thing.

Owen: Since when did I like being formal?

Y/n: Since your first date with Claire. Wait, never mind, because you wore cargo shorts.

Owen: You just had to pull that card out, huh?

Y/n: You and mum raised me in your image.

Roxie: *clears throat* Anyway, Mr. Grady asked we could have you as one of our first guests in the camp. You will stay with us for two weeks and then we will collect feedback before the attraction is opened.

Y/n: Is there a catch?

Dave: No phones, that's all.

Y/n: I've been without a phone for longer than a few weeks. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Roxie: Perfect! You will be our seventh camper.

Y/n turns to Owen with a "you've gotta be shitting me" look which made Owen chuckle.

Owen: I know you're not very social but you've gotta make friends. Barry doesn't count.

Y/n: Seriously? Dad, come on. You know how I am with other people.

Owen: Which is why it'll be a good learning experience for you. Break outta your island shell.

Y/n: Y'know, I kinda like my "island shell" just the way it is.

Owen: Come on, Y/n, you're mother would've loved for you to have gone to a camp. Do this for her.

Y/n looked at his dad before sighing and turning back to the camp councilors.

Y/n: Alright, I'll join the camp.

Dave: Sweet, you'll need to pack your things now and we'll see you later, brosiph!

Dave and Roxy both get into the truck before driving off while Y/n was watching, confused at why Dave spoke like that.

Y/n: He does know he doesn't have to be "all hip with the kids" as your generation says.
