The Watering Hole

Y/n POV

I was playing darts with some of the sharpened sticks I made from sharpening them with my knife and a paper target Yaz drew. Kenji and Darius came up from the ground and Kenji took off his shirt and shorts before going into the shower to take another long ass shower that took up an entire water container. Yaz came down and was doing another lap with her makeshift ankle brace.

She made a mark on the chalk board we had set up before Kenji threw an empty water barrel at Darius which he used for showering. Darius walked to the edge of the slide we made to easily get down without having to constantly go down the ladder.

Yaz: If you keep doing it for him he won't learn to do it for himself.

Darius just shrugged before sliding down the slide making me chuckle. I throw another dart at the board before hearing Darius call everyone.

Darius: Uh, guys?

We all walk to the edge before getting down from the treehouse and onto the ground before walking over to Darius and seeing the river completely dried up.

Y/n: Huh, that's a problem.

Sammy: Where'd all the water go?

Yaz: Why don't we ask Mr. 45 minute shower over here?

Kenji: Hey, looking good is part of my whole brand. And no way I drained a whole river.

Darius: Guys we have to find out what's the cause of this or we're gonna run out of drinking water.

Brooklyn: SHH!

We all turn to Brooklyn who was now on the other side of the river. We all looked at each other confused before looking back at Brooklyn.

Brooklyn: I hear that hum again!

We all groan at the mention of that damn hum she's gone on about for ages.

Brooklyn: The river must've been drowning it out before. If I can follow that sound I bet I can find that- 

Everyone: "Frozen patch of flowers."

Brooklyn: Oh, hah, I've mentioned it, huh?

Y/n: The frozen flowers you found once and never again? Yeah, about a hundred times or so.

Brooklyn: Uh, I'm sorry for wanting to get to the bottom of all this weirdness on the island. I came here to-

Everyone: "Unbox Jurassic World and that's what I'm gonna do."

Sammy: If you're gonna go look for the noise, I'll come too. If that's ok.

Sammy then ran to the other side of the river with Brooklyn.

Sammy: It'd be nice to have an adventure for a fun reason and not a "running from dinosaurs or facing imminent death" reason.

Yaz: I'll go if Sammy is. And Brooklyn

Sammy: It's a Camp Cretaceous girls adventure.

Y/n: Uh huh. While you girls do that, Darius, Kenji and I are gonna find out why the water's stopped flowing.

Kenji: Kenji do what, now?

Y/n: You wanna keep up your shower habit don't you? And also survive?

Darius: Let's go unbox the mystery of the missing water!

Kenji: *sigh* Fine, I'm in. It makes sense since I know this island like the-

Everyone: "Like the back of my VIP hand."

Kenji: We have been spending way too much time together.

Darius, Kenji and I then began walking along the river while the girls went out to have their own little adventure. Darius had a notebook out along with a pen and stick, the pen to write with and the stick to defend against dinosaurs. We had been walking through the jungle for a while and Darius was trying to get Kenji to like the fact we were in a jungle with dinosaurs in the wild but, understandably, Kenji was over Nublar.
