Whatever It Takes

Y/n POV

We were all still staring at the helicopter that was above us and I was getting a back vibe coming from it. I narrowed my eyes at the chopper while the others all also looked at the copter in suspicion, expect Kenji.

Kenji: Yes, yes, yes, yes! We're saved!

Y/n: Are we?

I look up at the main deck and see Kenji run into the helm.

Darius: Wait, Kenji!

We all run to the ladder and quickly start climbing up it, I had some difficulty but I managed to get up to the top. Darius and I quickly went inside and shut the engine off before Kenji could drive us back to the dock followed by the others who all walked into the helm with us.

Darius: I'm not getting good guy vibes right now, Kenj.

Yaz: Yeah, unmarked chopper, big scary guns-

Kenji: Oh I'm sorry, what would you bring to rescue a bunch of kids on an island filled with killer dinosaurs? Cake?

Ben: He's got a point.

Y/n: Those were InGen military grade. Those aren't rescue choppers.

A bright flash occurred, quickly followed by the crash of lighting which prompted us to look out onto the ocean where we just saw it was too rough to go out any further.

Sammy: The sea is pretty rough.

Darius: Alright then, we take our chances with the people in the helicopters?

Y/n: We don't really have any other choice.

Darius and I walked away from the controls and back to the group while Kenji began to drive us back to the dock with the helicopter keeping an eye on us. Once we docked, We all climbed down from the top deck and made our way onto the dock as the helicopter landed on a nearby helipad. Brooklyn tied the boat to the dock and we all ran to the helicopter where we saw an InGen military member exit and look at us while we covered our faces from the heavy rain.

InGen Soldier: Kids?

Y/n: Are you with InGen?!

InGen Soldier: Does it matter?!

Y/n: *mutter* To me.

We all slowly approached the man as he started helping us onto the helicopter, one by one. He started by putting Ben inside, followed by Kenji and Sammy but when it came Brooklyn, the ground shook in a familiar way it does on Main Street. I realize what was coming our way just as she emerged from the trees and roared at the helicopter. Rexy let out a loud and menacing roar before the helicopter tried to take off, leaving the InGen soldier with us on the helipad to watch. 

Rexy bit down on part of the landing gear and tried to force the helicopter to stall but it broke from her grasp and circled around to pick us up with the InGen soldier trying to signal them to help us but Rexy bit down on him as his muffled screams were heard from inside her mouth. A shiver went up my spine after watching him get eaten alive as the helicopter flew off.

Brooklyn: Wait!

Y/n: I knew we should've stayed on the damn boat!

The helicopter flew off further into the island while Rexy roared at it which made us flinch.

Y/n: Run! Go!

We all turned around and started running, despite the pain in my side. I heard Rexy roar behind us and start running after us which filled my system with adrenaline and that was drowning out the pain I was feeling from the bullet still being in my liver. We ran through the thick jungle while the rain continued to fall like knives. We burst out of some long grass that put us out onto a dirt road and when I turned around I saw Rexy roar at me while quickly catching up.
