A Beacon of Hope

Y/n POV

Y/n: SHIT, SHIT, SHIT! MOVE!

We were all running from a Parasaurolophus that was chasing us on our journey back from the docks. I look behind us and see it still chasing us so I continue running but I keep an eye on it.

Darius: Is it still after us?!

Just then, the T-rex comes out of the jungle and starts chasing after the Para making Kenji and I yell out in surprise and fear.

Kenji: Not anymore!

We continue running since now we have both the Para and now the T-rex on the chase. We arrived at a tree but I saw a fallen log not too far from us.

Y/n: There! Cover!

We were about to run but the T-rex snapped at the Para basically right behind us so we rushed away from them and to the two dinosaurs. Darius dives underneath the log while Kenji and I help the girls over the log before the rex's tail slammed against the log. Kenji and I quickly got over before a crash was heard followed by a crunch which made us all huddle against the log. I peak up over the log and saw the T-rex dragging the dead Para away before going back behind the log.

Y/n: They're gone.

The others all sigh in relief at this news.

Kenji: Why are there so many dinosaurs around?

Brooklyn: It's either your boyish charm or all the fences are down.

Sammy: No offence, but it's definitely the second one.

Yaz: I don't even care. Right now, I just want a sandwich. We haven't eaten since we had those awful carob bars that Ben-

Everyone went silent at the mention of Ben and I just looked away, guilty while hugging my legs, still remembering that moment vividly.

Yaz: I-I...

A roar from the rex was enough to bring everyone out of their previous mood and made us all groan in annoyance.

Sammy: We just need to eat and rest. I can't keep running like this.

Y/n: None of us can.

Darius: We don't have to! There's bound to be a way to call for help on main street!

Y/n: There is no way we ran that far.

I look out from behind the tree and saw the top of the innovation center which made me smile. We all rushed to get to main street to get as much supplies as we needed for survival. Once we got to main street, we saw it was abandoned and many buildings were heavily damaged.

Kenji: What happened here?

Yaz: Uh, I'm thinking dinosaurs.

Darius: It's more than that. Some kind of fight took place. 

Y/n: Judging by the height the T-rex and something bigger.

Brooklyn: The Indominus Rex.

Darius and I walk over to her and found her overlooking the Mosasaurus Lagoon while staring at a large patch of blood and a floating disembodied leg that used to belong to the Indominus.

Brooklyn: I don't think we have to worry about it anymore.

Darius: Or the Mosasaurus being hungry for a while.

Just then, I turn around and see the Indoraptor walking out from where the T-rex paddock is. I yelp and push Brooklyn and Darius away before pulling everyone to a gift shop nearby.

Kenji: Hey, what the-

I cover his mouth with my hand and shush him while peaking out from behind the concrete pillar to see Omega walking around the corner while sniffing the air. He then saw a Compy on the ground so he snuck up behind it before chomping down on it. I quickly recoiled behind the pillar again and looked at the others.
