Battle Lines

Y/n POV

Yaz, Sammy and I were inside the main room while Kenji was clearing where the date was supposed to be with a heart broken expression on his face before Darius, Ben and Brooklyn walked inside. Yaz walked over and grabbed Ben and Darius before guiding them over here to Sammy and I while Brooklyn walked closer to Kenji.

Brooklyn: Kenj, I am so so sorry I-

Kenji: Stood me up?

Brooklyn: I know it looks bad, is bad, but I had a good reason. Darius, Ben and I found that... your dad freed Kash. And has Mae working with him to perfect dino control and they've done it.

Kenji: Are you serious?

Brooklyn: Yes. Which is probably what your dads big presentation is about.

Kenji: I'm not talking about my dad, I'm talking about you. Instead of showing up to our first date you decided to sneak around behind my back to prove that my dad is, what, some sort of supervillain?

Sammy: *whisper* We should go.

Sammy was about to walk away but I grabbed her shoulder and pulled her back to her spot all while looking at the couple.

Sammy: *whisper* Right, we should hear this.

Ben: It wasn't like that. Brooklyn tried to get back for the date but there were obstacles.

Kenji: I don't care. I'm not even mad about any of that. Why didn't you guys just talk to me about any of this?

Darius: You were getting so close to your dad we didn't wanna bring it up unless we were sure he was really up to something.

Kenji: Fine, I'll talk to him. But for the record you guys are the ones who are obviously up to something.

Kenji walked out and slammed the door behind him while Brooklyn sighed with how the argument ended.

Sammy: Yeah, definitely wish I had left earlier.

Ben: Nothing's changed. We still need to help Mae and stop Mr. Kon.

Y/n: If Mr. Kon has learned to control dinosaurs, I'm not letting him anywhere near my goddamn raptor.

I walk out of the doors with the others and we start walking down the hallways before we came to the elevator. We all enter the elevator as it began descending to the ground floor where we exited the compound and began running through the jungle, being led by Brooklyn, Ben and Darius to the warehouse they had found yesterday. After a while, we arrived at the warehouse where we found a BRAD-X walking some boxes to the warehouse door with Mae and Kash walking behind it.

Kash: Just a few more tweaks and this chip'll do the boss proud. He'll finally recognize my genius for all it's wor-

Be was cut off when he bumped into the BRAD-X that was stopped outside the door with the crate in hand.

Kash: Take the supplies inside and go back for the rest.

The BRAD-X walked inside the warehouse followed by Kash and Mae while we looked at one another.

Y/n: *whisper* So, anyone got a plan?

Ben: *whisper* We can try sneak inside.

Brooklyn: *whisper* We can't sneak in with Kash there. Or the BRAD there.

As if on queue, the BRAD-X exits the warehouse and starts walking away and something then clicked my mind.

Y/n: *whisper* But we can sneak it when it comes back. Brooklyn and Ben can hide in one of the crates while I create a distraction.
