Kim Seungmin, 18, and Lee Felix, 19, are best friends. The two have been friends for more than five years, but there are still things they don't seem to know about each other. A simple example is that Felix doesn't know that his best friend watches Kdramas late into the night and is therefore always awake. However, there is also something that Seungmin doesn't know, even though he has noticed a few things about his best friend that have changed. Examples are that his smile looks more fake than real, that he is less interested in things that he used to enjoy, that he mostly lies in his bed doing who knows what or sleeping. Seungmin just couldn't figure out what this could mean and when he searched it on the internet, he mostly got the most rubbish, so he eventually gave up and just kept watching. 

Seungmin suspected that Felix was hiding something, but he didn't figure that out either. However, he got a goodnight message from Felix every evening, which at least gave him some security. Of course, it also happened that Seungmin would write to Felix first when he knew that he probably wouldn't reply for hours because he was watching Kdrama late into the night. But then the day came, the day when everything seemed to come to light. 

It was a typical afternoon, Felix and Seungmin met in the park, joked around, talked and much more. It seemed like everything was okay, they went home where Seungmin started watching the Kdrama he had started again. So far everything was as usual, it was evening, it got dark until it was already night and then it began. Seungmin stopped the episode and looked around his room, something wasn't right, he felt it, but he couldn't figure it out. 

Next he reached for his phone, the clock said 2:47 a.m. He hadn't received a goodnight message from Felix. First he put his laptop next to him in bed and stared at his phone screen which showed Felix's chat. He is online, but not writing. Seungmin waited impatiently for something to happen that would change online to writing or something else to tell him what was going on. And then, just when he was about to give up, he got a message that was definitely not the good night message he was hoping for. 

It was five simple words that put Seungmin on alert.

Today

Without thinking, he threw his blanket aside, quickly pulled on a hoodie and ran downstairs into the hallway where he slipped on his shoes and with one last grab for his key ran out the door. He tapped on Felix's location, which he sent minutes after his message, and knew immediately where the older boy was and it scared him. With these thoughts, he ran even faster. Out of breath, he arrived there and looked around for Felix, he found him behind the railing. His body was shaking, he was crying... and he screamed... he screamed and begged for her to stop, to finally leave him alone and that he didn't want any of this. 

Tears welled up in Seungmin's eyes, but he had to be strong. He went towards Felix with sure, slow but big steps, and when he was right behind him, he wrapped his arms around Felix's petite body and pulled him back onto the path. And then Felix burst into tears, he clung to Seungmin, who now had countless tears running down his cheeks, firstly because of the shock, secondly because he didn't understand what was going on and thirdly because he couldn't bear to see his best friend like that. 

The two of them sat on the floor like that for a while until Seungmin decided to take the older one with him. "Come on, Lixie... we're going home..." he whispered and pulled him to his feet. In silence they walked back to Seungmin, where he unlocked the door and went straight to his room with Felix. There he dug a warm hoodie out of his closet, knowing that Felix loved his hoodies and put it on him, then he put his laptop away and lay down in his bed, where he pulled Felix in seconds later and held him tightly in his arms. He lay with the blond boy in silence for a while, hoping that he would slowly calm down and relax. "Minnie I-.." Felix began but Seungmin interrupted him. "Shhh.. it's okay.. let's go to sleep and talk about it tomorrow, okay?.." With a slight nod on his part, the two fell asleep sometime around 7. 

6 hours later

They slowly woke up after this event-filled night, neither of them dared to move even a meter. Both enjoyed this unusual closeness, and most importantly... Felix enjoyed the silence in his head and this unusual feeling of love. Both knew that the other was awake, but neither made any attempt to say anything or move until Seungmin sadly broke the silence. "Lixie?.. do you want to talk now?.. or after breakfast?.." Silence. The brown-haired boy waited patiently for an answer from the blonde, which he got in the form of a tired-sounding "Now.." 

Lying arm in arm, Felix began to talk without Seungmin even having to ask questions. He cried again, which is why Seungmin then, with a heavy heart, changed their lying position to a sitting one so that he could look at him. "Lixie... why didn't you ever say anything?... Why did you keep quiet... I knew something was wrong... but I never figured out what the problem could be... I'm so sorry I couldn't help you sooner." Seungmin said, close to tears himself. 

Felix quickly shook his head and looked at Seungmin with tears streaming down his face. "No, Minnie, don't say that! You couldn't know, how could you? I'm so sorry you had to find out like that... but... yesterday... yesterday when you... when you held me in your arms... she... she fell silent... she was no longer there..." They both looked at each other with so much love and hope in their eyes that they both said nothing more and just stared at each other. 

Until they got closer...

And closer...

And closer...

 and finally their lips met... 

and they kissed...
