right... I'm the oldest🍼 pt.2

He whispered and placed his own head on Jeongins shoulder.

2 ½ hours later

Two and half an hour later the baby woke up in Hyunjin's arms, Channie sighed and continued to gently suck on his pacifier until he opened his swollen and heavy eyelids and seconds later looked into Hyunjin's eyes. "Hey baby...did you sleep well?" He asked gently and in response he received a somewhat tired smile from the boy in his arms. A few minutes passed before Channie woke up and started babbling behind his pacifier. He looked from Hyunjin to Minho and talked and talked and talked. This went on for a while until Lixie finally woke up again, he sat up on his mommy's lap and blinked sleepily into the room. "Hey there sweetie.. did you sleep well?" His daddy asked and Lixie nodded. 

When Felix was now more awake, he stumbled his way to Hyunjin and Minho, who had Channie in their arms. When they saw Lixie, they made Channie aware of the other Aussie. "Channie.. look who's coming.." Minho said gently and pointed in Lixie's direction. Channie turned his head and when he saw Lixie he squealed and clapped his hands. Minho made some space for their other baby and Channie was already wriggling in his mommy's arms. Felix came towards the baby and with a little help from Minho and Hyunjin he pulled him onto his lap, where they both stuck to each other the whole time. 

And after the two babies were occupied, the other six chatted about the events of the last four and a half hours. "Did any of you know that Chan is a little too?" As everyone shook their heads, they looked for a brief moment at the two of them, cuddled up together in their own worlds. "I... We shouldn't have treated him like that... it was so obvious that he didn't come out with the pacifier in his mouth to make Lixie laugh... but because he also slipped... and that's the only thing.. What we... what I did was to tell him not to act like a baby, but to act like the oldest he is." Minho mumbled, ashamed. 

What they missed was that Chan was pulled out of his headspace again by the exact same sentence. He sat frozen on the younger boy's lap, paci didn't move and his eyes filled with tears. And before anyone could react or Lixie could alert the others, Chan jumped up and literally ran out of the living room into his room where he locked himself in. He lay in his bed and started crying. "Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Why did I do that??? I'm the fucking oldest!!" He scolded himself. The others, meanwhile, were too shocked to react, it wasn't until a minute later that they all jumped up and ran to Chan's room only to find it locked. They knocked on the door, talked to him, but nothing. 

The only thing they heard was his quiet sobs. They looked at each other desperately, not really knowing what to do, until Lixie stood in front of Hyunjin and Minho minutes later with a key in his hand. "Open doow wit kwey?" The two older ones looked at the mentally younger boy with a big smile, both pressed a kiss on his cheeks and took the key from his hand to open the door to Chan's room, but before they went in, they turned around and said "We'll go in alone and talk to him, okay? If we all go in at once, we might overwhelm him, wait for us in the living room... I hope we can get him back into his headspace once we get this all sorted out." The others, including Felix, nodded and trotted back into the living room where they played with the younger boy to distract him from the whole thing. 

Hyunjin and Minho walked silently into the room and quietly closed the door behind them, they approached the bed where they saw Chan's figure lying huddled together. The look on his face was so broken and destroyed that it brought tears to Hyunjin's eyes and so he was the first to start talking. "Chan?..." No response, so he tried again. "Chan Hyung?" Still nothing, so as not to burst into tears he looked helplessly at Minho, who first took him in his arms and then turned to Chan. "Chan? Hey..." Minho said gently and ran his hands through his hair and only then did he react. Chan's eyes flickered to Minho and he immediately started crying again as he squeezed out apology after apology. "I'm sorry.. I'm sorry.. I know I'm the oldest and shouldn't act like a baby. It won't happen again, I promise!" 

Hyunjin couldn't help it and started crying too, he sat on Chan's bed and pulled him close to keep him quiet. "Channie, be quiet! You're the oldest, yes, but that doesn't give us the right to tell you how to deal with stress and all that. If you can also reduce your stress through littlespace, we'll accept that! We've accepted Lixie when he told us and so we accept you too! Do you hear me? It was wrong and insensitive of us to accuse you of that and we are so sorry. You are such a sweet baby and it is so easy to take care of you, please don't give it up just because we were so stupid and didn't see all the signs..." 

The whole time Hyunjin was talking, Chan became calmer and calmer. He wasn't in his headspace, but the way Hyunjin said it all told him that they were truly sorry. After a short while he looked up and into the eyes of both of them. "I-I.." he stuttered but was silenced by Minho. "It's okay... you didn't do anything wrong and so there's no reason for you to say anything... I guess I know why you didn't tell us about it and that makes me regret what I said to you even more.. Channie, I'm sorry.. please forgive me.." 

Silence. "I-I. T'annie 'gave daddy an' mommy. T'annie wov daddy an' mommy!" The two of them were so relieved when they heard their baby's sweet words and took him in their arms, which is why he started giggling and squealing. When the others heard this, they looked at each other and marched up to the three of them with the now bored Lixie. When Lixie saw his little brother so happy, he leaned against his daddy and fell asleep peacefully once again. Channie, who was the first to see that Lixie had fallen asleep, started yawning and rubbing his tired eyes. Everyone looked at baby Channie with loving eyes until Minho picked him up to get him ready for bed.

Meanwhile, Hyunjin went and made another bottle for the baby until he also noticed Lixie, who was sleeping calmly on the floor next to his daddy. "Innie..." Was all he whispered while pointing at Felix. Seungmin and Jeongin looked at each other and with a simple nod, it was agreed who had what to do. While Seungmin changed the sleeping boy, Jeongin prepared the bed enough to make room for baby Channie as well. While Channie was being fed, Seungmin came into the room with Felix, who was still sleeping, and put him to bed and shortly afterwards a sleeping Channie was also put in and Felix's arms were immediately around his baby brother. With one last look at the two cuties, the caregivers left the room and all sighed with big smiles on their faces.
