Ship: Hyunchan/Chanjin
Triggers/Warnings: overworking, single father, overaged/underaged people

--------------------------

Chan who opened his heavy eyelids after hearing Hyunjin chuckle, saw his son staring at him intently. He smiled softly, appreciating the fact that he took watching him that seriously.

Hyunjin came rushing back in, car key in hand as he hurried over to Chan to help him up again. Jisung followed quietly with his backpack, waiting for his turn to get in the car. The black haired man meanwhile settled Chan into the passanger seat carefully of the baby, he than turned to Jisung and picked him up, and settling him on his daddys lap. "Be careful of your baby brother and hold tight to your daddy okay?.." The young boy nodded while staring with big eyes up as his teacher.

Chan wrapped his arm around his son and like that, Hyunjin closed the door, walked around his car and after getting in himself, buckling his seatbelt he drove into the direction of Chans home as fast and safely he could. After arriving at the older mans house, he unlocked the door and let Jisung in first,  before slowly getting in with Chan, bringing him straight to the couch.  He removed the shoes from him, took them with him, before removing his own, and helped Jisung undress, before going back.

He got Felix out of the baby carrier and laid him in the crib in the living room, covering him with the baby blanket, before turning back to Chan to finally get food and medicine in him. Jisung occupied himself with his toys, so Hyunjin could focus completely on the brown haired man.

One week later, the high fever finally broke, Chan slowly regained his strength back, but he was actually very glad that Hyunjin was here with him, because he really didnt know how he would have managed this all alone, still he felt somehow guilty for needing help of someone else. It was something he didnt liked at all, it made him feel weak and vulnerable.

Hyunjin took care of Jisung and Felix, the two month old boy completely in awe with him just like Jisung too. Felix slept soundly in Hyunjins arms, as he was watching cartoon with Jisung, while Chan was in his bedroom taking a nap again. He woke up though and silently walked downstairs to see this. Hyunjin laying on the couch, the baby sleepig soundly on his chest, while Jisung sat on his legs and watched cartoon, while the older man was asleep himself.

It was something Chan could get used too. He, he somehow loved the company from Hyunjin and how he took care of his sons. He loved the boys smile, laugh and overall just his personality. It may sound stupid, because he doesnt even know Hyunjin that long and well, but he is sure, that he is slowly falling in love with that boy. And quiet hard to that too. He leaned against the doorframe, watching Hyunjin sleep peacfully while one of his arms was on Felix back and the other one in Jisung which he played with.

He shuffled closer getting Jisung attention. The small boy stayed quiet and carefully climbed down from Hyunjins lap too hug his daddy. "Daddy... yus it wakey 'gain?.." he whispered softly, looking up at his father. "Yes.. I'm awake again.. what where you doing while daddy was sleeping, hm?" he asked softly while picking the boy up and sitting down in the armchair across from the couch Hyunjin was sleeping on.

Jisung told his father what he did with Hyunjin and Lixie, until Hyunjin stirred awake, feeling the missing weight of Jisung on his legs, panicking slightly. "Jisung?..." He called out groggily, but you could hear the panic in it. "D'innie.." He said softly, Hyunjin sat up and supporting the baby softly against his chest, before finally noticing Chan. "Channie... you're awake again.. how do you feel?" he asked, patting the now empty space next to him.

"I'm feeling better.. Thank you.. for being here and taking care of my kids... and me.. it means a lot to me.." He said, walking over next to the younger man, still holding Jisung.

And like that, months passed and the two man grew closer. They spent a lot of time together if it was with the kids our just the two of them. Hyunjin bought car seats for the two boys, so he could bring them home to Chan, if he wasnt available on coming himself, he also got the spare key to Chans house, just like Chan got Hyunjin's spare key. They both knew theres something more between them, then just friends... our someone they know because of the kids. Chan nor Hyunjin wanted to get this conversation started, so they just let it happen in their own pace, hoping that the other one would feel the same somehow, or start this conversation to get it clear, that they both felt it.

Chan was working again at the office, now that he knew he could count on Hyunjin if he didnt made it on point to the kindergarten. Still, he somehow felt like it was wrong, what he was doing. And Hyunjin somehow knew, he knew Chan so good, he could tell he isnt quiet fond of this whole thing, he knew that Chan felt vulnerable and weak, now that he was helping, so this one evening, when Jisung and baby Lixie were asleep, the two laid in Chans bed, cuddling until Hyunjin suddenly began to talk.

"Channie.." he said softly, head resting on Chans broad chest. He hummed softly while playing with the black locks. He said silent for while, thinking for a way to asked what he had in mind for so long.  "Why.. why do you always look so troubled.. when you see me taking care of the boys? I.. I noticted the look on your face.. its almost like you feel guilty or something..." Chan progressed the word, before looking at Hyunjins face. "I..." Chan started, but paused. He didnt knew how to answer that, because he didnt thought that Hyunjin was that good at reading him already.

He sighed. "Well... after my wife left me... I was in charge to keep the boys healthy. I needed to be a good father but also work to keep them feed and warm. I needed to look after the house but had the duty to change Felix and feed him as soon as he cried. Its just... I.. I feel like I failed... failed as a father, as someone that should be the hero for those two. I feel weak... vulnerable.. like I cant do anything on my own... always needing help and stuff.. I feel like a failure.." He spoke softly, avoiding Hyunjin eyes.

Hyunjin got up a bit to look at Chan, lifting the mans chin so he was forced to look him in the eyes. "Listen to me now okay? It is not wrong to accept help, Chan. You are a great father, Jisung and Felix love you! They cherrish you, you ARE their HERO. Chan... just because I'm helping you doesnt mean you failed! You're absolutely stunning as a father, as a person. You so so strong but you dont even acknowledge your own strength and how resilient you are.

You go to work, to keep them happy, feed and healthy even tho you don't really know who to manage some things, but you just pushed through it.. its okay to ask for help and accept it, it doesnt change the fact that your strong. You're allowed to show weakness sometimes, to be vulnerable.. do you understand that..?" Hyunjin explained, while getting subconsciously closer to Chans face, they were just inches apart. Chan could feel Hyunjin hot breath against his lips.

They stared at each other, not saying anything. Hyunjins eyes went to Chans lips before they went back up to his eyes. There was a sudden, sudden tention between them, before Hyunjin had the courage to do it...

...he moved closer to the older mans face.. overcoming the last inches, before he pressed his plump and soft lips aginst those of the Chan... kissing him lovingly and tenderly.
