Triggers/Warnings: for now, none

---------------------------------

What did this 'fennec fox hybrid' mean? And why did Hannie want to 'talk' to the fox alone?

The next morning, Hannie was woken up by a gentle murmuring right in front of him. Completely forgetting that the little hybrid boy was in his room, he sat up abruptly and startled the boy who was lying on top of him. Confused, Jeongin looked at the young man in front of him who was interrupting him while he was examining him. "Oh my... I'm sorry Innie... come back here..." he said, wide awake, and opened his arms. Jeongin crawled into the boy's arms and they lay like that for a while until they both fell asleep again and only woke up again when the other seven stormed into Hannie's room.

some time before they all stormed into Hannie's room

The six boys woke up around 9:30 in the morning, the house was quiet, which meant that Hannie and Jeongin were still asleep. Chan and Minho, the two oldest, were the first to wake up, they changed and walked together into the kitchen where they started to make breakfast. The smell of fresh pancakes brought the other four into the kitchen and sat down at the table that was already set. Minho and Chan put the pancakes as well as fruits and other things on the table until they noticed that Hannie was missing.

"I'm going!" Said Felix, the second youngest of the boys and ran off to wake Hannie. He knocked on the door and when he got no answer, he opened it slowly and quietly only to see Jisung in his bed with another boy. He let out a scream while standing there petrified. The scream that Felix naturally let out caused the other five to come running and bombard Felix with questions, but the only thing he did was point to the duo in Jisung's bed who were now slowly waking up. The stranger rubbed his tired eyes with his fists, while his ears twitched from all the noise.

Jisung, who woke up a little faster than the much younger one, pulled him behind him protectively. "Ji?... Who is that?..." Changbin, the third oldest among them, murmured. Jisung looked at the six in front of him, then behind him at the now visibly frightened Jeongin and back to his friends. "Can we all maybe calm down first... first of all, you don't have to scream like that, secondly, you've now frightened Innie and thirdly, it's Jeongin!! Who else?! Do you see the little fennec fox anywhere else??" Jisung said, visibly annoyed.

He turned around and took Jeongin in his arms, who clung to him and looked at the others in fear. "I-I can go if i h-have too..." he whispered in Jisung's ear, but Jisung shook his head and looked venomously at his seven boyfriends. "Innie... ignore them, okay?... You didn't do anything wrong..." Jisung said and looked at him lovingly. "Come on, let's go to the kitchen, we can talk about everything there, okay?" Jeongin nodded slightly and grabbed Jisung's hand. Jisung pulled him past his boyfriends, who he still gave a visibly frightened look. The six of them looked at each other with a look of shame, of course it could only have been Jeongin, after all there was no trace of the fox.

With slow steps they followed Jisung and Jeongin, who looked at everything so closely that he almost fell down the stairs from looking at all the pictures. "Careful Innie!" Jisung said and giggled. When they arrived in the kitchen, the two boys sat down on the first chairs they could find. Jisung more or less pulled Jeongin onto his lap and the others spread out around them. And before anyone could say anything, Chan did. "Ji... Jeongin... we're sorry about how we reacted... it wasn't right... it was just the shock moment, because we knew that a little fennec fox was supposed to be in bed with you, and suddenly Jeongin... Jeongin as a person was lying in there with you... Please don't take it personally, okay? We have nothing against you..."

Jeongin looked at the young man in front of him and then grinned a little uncertainly, not knowing exactly what to say to that, after all, he didn't want them to feel bad, because he can understand it. Luckily, Jisung took over this for him. "It's fine... I was scared too when I first woke up and Jeongin was lying on me... and I'm sorry for snapping at you like that..." They all smiled at each other and Jeongin, who didn't like this at all, had all the attention again. "You know what, let's eat first, I'm hungry!" said Hyunjin, the fourth oldest. He stood up and got another plate, cutlery and a glass for Jeongin and put it in front of him, sat down again and they started talking.

Jeongin, however, calmly ate his first real and human meal after a few days... months... and thus blocked out the conversations of the seven, but when he heard his name more often, he was present again and looked up with his eyes still sparkling. "Are you ready... we would now go into the living room and talk... we are still slightly confused, although I think we have understood it now... but we would still find out more about you..." Minho said and smiled gently at Jeongin. He nodded a little uncertainly and followed them into the living room, which he already knew from his animal form. They sat down and then there was silence and everyone's eyes were on Jeongin, who had lowered his head because he couldn't hold eye contact with then and so that they could see his soft fox ears.

"Wait a minute... Jeongin... where is your fox tail??" asked Seungmin, the youngest of the seven boys. Jeongin looked up at the mention of his fox tail and grinned crookedly as he tried to think of the best way to explain it. "Uhm... it's in... the pants... there's no hole and I didn't want to ruin them because they don't belong to me... so I just pulled the pants over them..." Jisung stood up, walked towards Jeongin, grabbed his hand and pulled him towards and into the kitchen. There he got a pair of scissors from one of the drawers and then turned to Jeongin.

"Turn around." He simply said and Jeongin did it. Jisung, meanwhile, fiddled with his sweatpants until he gently grabbed Jeongin's fox tail and navigated it to the hole in question, where it then let it through on its own. "Better?" He asked and Jeongin nodded with a grin. So they went back into the living room and immediately all eyes were on him again, which is why he wrapped his fox tail around his waist and played nervously with his hands.
