'best friends'

Everyone knows that you don't know when you'll get sick and when you'll get better again. Especially if you have been perfectly healthy for a few years in a row. That's how Felix is now, he's sick again for the first time in four years and then it really hit him, but the problem was that he and his 'friends' had agreed to meet the next day, but now he was lying in his bed and thinking about whether he should cancel it or not after all he is sick.

Of course he had a bad feeling when he thought about how the three boys he calls his best friends reacted the last time he canceled for various reasons. Yes, it also happened that he canceled the meetings because he just didn't feel like it, he didn't have the energy to deal with them for hours when it was always just about them and no one ever listened to him. And so, after much hesitation, he decided to cancel the meeting.

Me:
Guys? I have to cancel the meeting for tomorrow. I'm sick and I'm not feeling any better than when we last met... 

Jinnie:
What do you have? 

Hannie:
Oh man... how did I know he was canceling again? 

Binnie:
I also had the feeling that he was canceling again... and what do I tell my parents now? They cooked more food because I said Jinnie, Hannie and you were coming over? They bought extra food only for you to cancel now... but oh well... get well soon! 

Speechless, Felix looked at his phone as he read the messages over and over again. He didn't answer, turned off his phone and lay down to sleep. Felix knew that the three of them didn't understand it again and made him feel bad and wondered why he got sick, although he couldn't control that. It's not his fault if they ignore the fact that he's sick at the meeting they had before.  

Not even three hours later Felix woke up again and started crying. And so as not to wake his roommate, he left his room and went into the living room, which was one floor down. There he curled up in a small ball and cried. "What can I do about being sick? I didn't choose to get sick! And the food thing has nothing to do with me, the Seos are buying more and more food just for spontaneous occasions or when Binnie spontaneously took us home with him..If their goal was to make me feel bad, then congratulations they did it." 

Jeongin, Felix's roommate, who woke up even though Felix wasn't the reason, heard everything Felix said and so he quietly walked back to his room to write to his best friends to ask them to reschedule the meeting with him. The three of them knew that Jeongin had a roommate and they had seen him a few times, but they didn't expected to talk to him.

When Jeongin came back down the stairs, Felix was sleeping peacefully on the couch, it was 7:30 in the morning and so his three best friends would show up now. He texted them to knock and he would explain everything to them as soon as they got there, the three of them didn't question it, they just did it because at least they would find out as soon as they got to Jeongin's. Thirty minutes later they knocked on the door and seconds later Jeongin opened the door for them.

"Hey, thanks for coming here.. we have to be quiet, my roommate is sleeping down here at the moment and that's also the reason why I asked you to come over. You've seen Felix a few times, right? He seemed canceling a meeting with his so-called best friends yesterday because he is sick, but the three of them seemed to have made him feel like it was his fault. He was awake at 4 a.m crying about it.. I know I don't know why the three of them are like that and I don't know them personally, but they destroy the boy. He has often canceled meetings because the three of them seem to take all of his energy and he is simply not able to be with them for hours. He often told me something about the three of them and there have been situations here and there where he cried again, simply because the three of them aren't the kind of best friends you imagine. Do you understand?" 

The three of them looked at each other with a simple look and then back at the boy. "Can you maybe tell us what the names of the three boys are, because I have a really bad feeling right now.." Chan mumbled and Minho nodded. "Sure, the three are called Changbin, Hyunjin and Jisung." - "Oh god! I can't believe it!" Chan said while Minho just stood there, his eyes widening. "What? Do you know the three of them?" Seungmin now asked. The two nodded and said "Hyunjin/Jisung is my brother!" Now it was Jeongin, Seungmin but also Felix, who is now awake and looked at the two in shock. 

"Brothers? How? They never mentioned that they have older brothers.." He said and then he had the attention of the four. "Lix.. come here and sit." Jeongin said, pulling out a chair. "Huynjin and Jisung are mine and Minho's brother, I don't know Changbin personally and all that, but what the two of them are saying isn't okay at all! You're clearly sick, so what is there not to believe? Can you show us the messages they texted you?" They asked and Felix nodded, but before he could get up and get his phone, Jeongin came walking into the kitchen with it.

Felix unlocked it and handed it to the two boys in front of him. "Okay, wait a minute! What do Changbin's parents have to do with you being sick? As far as I know from Jinnie, they always have more food because you spontaneously go to the Seos or am I wrong?" Chan asked and Felix nodded, his eyes glassy. "Don't worry, Hyunjin will get of piece of my mind when he comes home. I'll take care of it and I think Jisung will get in a lot of trouble too.." But Felix shook his head. 

"N-no.. let it go... I don't have the energy for this 'friendship' anymore... it's been like this for four years... for four... I'm tired of the three of them only talking about themselves but don't even give me the opportunity to tell them whats bothering me, you understand? I've had enough.. I'll end the friendship and then see what happens. I'll leave you alone.. after all, you're here for Innie and not for me.." And so Felix sloppily went back to his room where he burst into tears again and soon fell asleep again.
