•••The players decided to divide themselves into two teams. On one side stood Hinata, Bokuto, and Akaashi, forming an energetic trio, while the other side consisted of Kuroo, Lev, and Tsukishima.
Aeris couldn't help but laugh as she observed the stark difference in height between the two teams. "Hinata, you look like a small beam compared to them," she teased, a playful grin on her face.
Kuroo and Bokuto joined in the laughter, good-naturedly acknowledging the humor in the situation. It was undeniable that Hinata's shorter stature made for a comical visual contrast.
"Okay, Aeris-chan, you start the game," Bokuto suggested, turning his attention to their unofficial referee.
Aeris nodded, her eyes keen on the game. "Sure, ready, play!" she called out, since there was no whistle at hand.
With Aeris's enthusiastic declaration to start the game, the players wasted no time diving back into the fray. The gym was alive with the sound of volleyball spikes, serves, and blocks as the two teams engaged in a fierce competition.
Hinata's agility and Bokuto's raw power were a force to be reckoned with, and Akaashi's precise sets only amplified their offensive capabilities. On the opposing side, Kuroo's strategic prowess, Lev's agility, and Tsukishima's towering blocks provided a solid defense.
"Watch out, Hinata, you'll get blocked," Aeris warned, her eyes fixed on the action as Hinata prepared for a powerful spike.
With a resounding thud, Hinata's spike met Tsukishima's formidable block, sending the ball back to their side. Kuroo cheered while Hinata groaned in frustration.
Hinata, his enthusiasm undeterred, turned to Aeris, his brow furrowing in curiosity. "How did you know that?"
Aeris couldn't help but chuckle at his question. "Hinata, you're literally spiking the ball to a freaking wall."
Hinata scratched his head and grinned. "Oh, right. Again!"
The game continued, each player giving their all. Akaashi's precise sets, Bokuto's powerful spikes, and Hinata's relentless energy kept the team on their toes. On the opposing side, Kuroo's strategic blocking, Lev's agility, and Tsukishima's towering presence made for a formidable defense.
The players paused their intense game for a moment to catch their breath and rehydrate. As they sipped water and exchanged playful banter, the topic of their opponent's tactics came up.
"I can't believe Fukurodani has such a good offense," Aeris remarked, a hint of surprise in her voice. "Since when?"
Kuroo, always analytical, raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, and why did they change their tactics?"
Bokuto, feeling slightly defensive, chimed in, "How did you know we changed tactics?"
Aeris couldn't help but smile. "My former team literally went against you guys since I was in my first year."
Lev, curious and wide-eyed, asked, "Who, Aeris-san?"
Aeris replied "Takenodai High School."
A sudden realization struck Bokuto, and his eyes widened in disbelief. "Wait! You're Kageyama Aeris? The volleyball player who got banned from playing? I thought you moved to a different school where nobody knew you."
Akaashi, was quick to apologize. "I'm sorry for what Bokuto-san said, Aeris-san." He bowed respectfully, prompting Bokuto to follow suit.
Aeris chuckled, waving off their concerns. "I've gotten used to it by now. Don't worry, that's me, and my ban has been lifted."
Lev couldn't help but be curious. "Why were you banned, though?"
Kuroo, with a playful yet firm swat on Lev's head, reprimanded him. "Lev!"
Aeris, however, was open to discussing her past. "It's fine, guys. People are always curious. I got banned due to bribery and cheating."
Akaashi's reaction to Aeris's revelation was quite telling. He coughed in surprise, causing Aeris to express her concern. She patted Akaashi's back as he nodded and wiped away a bit of water.
Hinata, always one to offer support, couldn't help but chime in. "Boo, to them, I saw you play during the Inter-High Preliminaries and saw what a good player you were. It's their loss."
Bokuto, his eyes still wide with surprise, asked, "You played during the Inter-High Preliminaries?"
Aeris nodded and replied, "Yeah, I did. We lost to Shiratorizawa and Date Tech."
Bokuto, while expressing his disappointment that he hadn't seen her play, couldn't help but feel curious. "Too bad I didn't see you play."
Hinata, always eager for more volleyball action, jumped in with a suggestion. "Why don't we play with you?"
Aeris hesitated, humility in her tone. "What? It's fine. You guys should focus on yourselves."
Hinata, however, was determined. "Come on, you've played with us before."
"Well, you guys are 3 on 3. It's not fair to have 4." Aeris said
Hinata, not one to give up easily, encouraged her further. "It's fine. You can come to us."
Before a decision could be reached, Yaku arrived, bringing a practical solution. "What are you kids doing?"
Kuroo smiled, relieved, "Yaku-kun, good timing. Now let's play"
Aeris sigh "Fine"
