Ben stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his tie as he inspected his reflection. Tonight was different. Tonight was special. He had been planning this for weeks now, wanting to make it perfect. He glanced at the clock, realizing he was running late. With a quick spritz of cologne, he grabbed his keys and dashed out the door, his heart pounding with anticipation.

As he slid behind the wheel of his car Ben couldn't shake the nervous excitement coursing through him. Tonight was the night he would finally tell Miranda those three words he had been holding back. "I love you."

With a confident smile, he drove through the city streets, the soft hum of Trey Songz's "Love Faces" filling the air. The lyrics seemed to echo his own feelings as he navigated towards Miranda's place. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the city, adding to the romantic ambiance of the evening.

Meanwhile, Miranda was putting the finishing touches on her outfit, her heart fluttering with anticipation. She couldn't shake the feeling that something extraordinary was going to happen tonight. Maybe it was the way Ben had been looking at her lately, or perhaps it was just a gut feeling. Whatever it was, she knew she was in for a memorable evening.

When he arrived at her place, Miranda stepped out, looking stunning in a red dress that hugged her curves in all the right places. Ben couldn't help but feel a surge of pride that she was his. He got out and opened her door for her.

"Hey, beautiful," he greeted her with a smile as she approached the car.

"Hey, handsome," Miranda replied, planting a soft kiss on his cheek before sliding into the passenger seat.

He then slid into the driver's seat beside her. As they drove towards the restaurant, Ben stole glances at Miranda, his heart swelling with affection.

Finally, they arrived at their destination, a cozy little Italian bistro that Miranda had been dying to try. They were shown to their table by a friendly waiter, and Ben couldn't help but feel grateful for the privacy they would have tonight.

As they looked through the menu, making small talk about their day at the hospital, Ben felt the nervous energy building inside him. He hadn't even noticed she was asking him what he was going to order.

"Huh? Oh, sorry, Miranda. What were you saying?" he asked, feeling a flush of embarrassment creeping up his neck.

Miranda chuckled softly "I was asking what you're planning on ordering. The pasta here is supposed to be amazing," she replied, gesturing to the menu in front of them.

Realizing his mistake, Ben chuckled sheepishly. "Oh, right. Sorry about that," he said, glancing down at the menu. "Hmm, I think I'll go for the chicken Alfredo pasta. What about you?"

Miranda smiled, her gaze thoughtful as she considered her choices. "I'm torn between the penne with vodka sauce and the shrimp scampi," she admitted, biting her lip.

Ben reached across the table, laying a reassuring hand on hers. "Why don't you get both? We can share," he suggested

Miranda's face lit up with delight, and she nodded eagerly. "That sounds perfect," she agreed, squeezing his hand gratefully.

As they placed their orders with the waiter, Ben couldn't help but feel grateful for Miranda's patience and understanding. He made a mental note to be more present in their conversations from now on, determined not to let his thoughts get the better of him again.

As their food arrived, Ben couldn't help but smile at the sight of their delicious meals. The aroma of creamy chicken alfredo mixed with the tangy scent of penne with vodka sauce and shrimp scampi filled the air, making his mouth water.
