"True love is selfless. It is prepared to sacrifice." — Sadhu Vaswani
My body is shaking.
Harry helps me get out of the window and find my footing. I press my body against the building, the wind whipping at my back. The terror inside of me is an overwhelmingly bad feeling as I look down, seeing how far up we are.
I slowly inch to my right, not breathing.
Harry follows me out, making it look easy. He definitely doesn't look like he's afraid of heights right now. He shuts the window behind him, and the three of us are suddenly dangling off a skyscraper.
Harry stays close to me as I move one foot at a time. My hands grip the wall so hard that my nails feel like they're breaking. Harry keeps one of his hands on my back, pressing me against the building.
How he is doing this with one hand, I do not know.
A big gust of wind hits us, and I close my eyes, my heart stopping in my chest. My mind is panicking, but I have no choice but to follow Niall. The alternative is falling to my death.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
Niall stops moving and holds one of his hands up, signaling me to stop before we scoot past another window. We stay flat against the building, waiting for Niall to tell us it's clear.
The ledge we are standing on is only big enough for half of my foot, and one small misstep is all it would take for me to fall.
I force myself to calm down. I need a clear head.
Panicking will not help me.
"Okay, move," Niall says.
Inch by inch, we scale the building, slowly making our way over to the point that Harry said we could jump. I look down at it, my eyes widening. That's still an extremely high jump to make.
I watch as Niall jumps off the building, landing on his feet below us. I press my forehead against the glass, saying, "No, no, no, no, no."
Harry says, "You can do it, Kiz. He'll catch you."
Niall stands below us, holding his arms out. He nods, yelling something I can't hear. His lips look like they were saying something along the lines of, "I got you."
I can't let myself think too much.
I say, "Fuck my life," and then I jump off of the building.
Niall braces my fall, his arms wrapping around me.
"Oh, God," I say, in shock.
My chest is heaving. Harry jumps after me, landing on his feet perfectly because he can never do anything badly. He grabs my arm, pulling me to my feet.
I hiss, "Are you fucking kidding me," as I watch Niall slide down a pole to get to the ground. I can't believe I am living in an action movie right now. I am not made for this. I should be in a romantic comedy, not this.
Harry helps me, holding onto me until I manage to wrap my legs around the pole. I slide down, feeling dizzy. We are finally on solid ground, and I can breathe again.
Harry asks me, "Kiz, how far are we from Zayn?"
"Shit," I breathe as I catch my breath. I look around, trying to pinpoint where we are. He said he rendezvous 4, which is... I say, "We're on the opposite side of the building."
Niall speaks into the comm, and Zayn says he has Clove and Louis already, so he's coming to us. We run into the parking garage, finding a spot to hide between two cars until he gets here.
