Lando just finished a 10 mile run his trainer forced him on, when he spotted a coffee shop near the Casino de Monte Carlo. His stomach starting rumbling and he needed something to eat after his workout. It was still pretty early in the morning and he was grateful there weren't a lot of people around. He parted ways with his trainer and entered into the coffee shop.

He figured he had some time to sit and grab a coffee and secretly enjoy a pastry, though if his trainer knew, he'd kill him. There was a small line in front of him, but he wasn't paying much attention to it. He was texting some friends about plans they had for tomorrow. The smell in the cafe was intoxicating, fresh pastries and cookies sitting in the glass displays.

When it his turn he ordered an egg white wrap, a chocolate chip muffin and an iced macchiato. Balance of protein and carbs, he thought to him. He stepped off to the side where the other customers were waiting for their orders. He took this moment to scan the room, as he put his phone away. His eyes fell on a girl standing near him waiting for her order. She was scrolling on her phone and didn't notice Lando staring at her.

She was gorgeous, Lando thought to himself. She had long blonde hair, pulled back in a pony tail. What really caught his attention were her piercing blue eyes. She had on a workout set and sneakers, so Lando assumed she must have been a local.

While he kept trying not to be obvious and stare at her, the barista called out "iced macchiato." As he went to reach for the drink, the blonde girl did at the same time, their hands both touching on the cup. he felt a spark of electricity at their hands touching. She looked at him, eyes widening with a face he couldn't read.

Lando smirked at her, "sorry miss, but I think this one's mine." The blonde giggled and pointed to the cup, "unless your name is also Aurora, I don't think so."

Lando blushed and pulled his hand away. He apologized and awkwardly waited for his order to be ready. Aurora nodded politely and headed over to an empty table to enjoy her coffee and breakfast. What Lando didn't know was that Aurora had recognized him. She was an avid F1 fan, especially since moving to Monaco.

Lando finally got his coffee and breakfast and turned to look for a place to sit. He summoned some courage and walked over to where Aurora is sitting. "Do you mind if I sit here?" he asked shyly. Aurora smiled and invited him to join her. Aurora couldn't help but notice how shy he was, nothing of what she assumed he was like based on what she saw on social media. They enjoyed some light conversation, getting to know each other briefly.

Lando learned Aurora was from the Netherlands and had recently moved to Monaco last year. Aurora realized that Lando refrained from mentioning who he was, even though she already knew. She was curious why he didn't mention it. When talking about his job, he only mentioned he traveled a lot. After about an hour, Lando made his move. He felt this connection to Aurora already, even after only just meeting.

He placed his hand on the back of his neck shyly, "Listen, I'm not usually this forward, but I really enjoyed chatting with you, and would like to know you better. Would you...uh... like to have dinner with me tonight? As a....as a date?.

Aurora thought about it for a moment. She didn't want to say no, but she was also afraid of saying yes. After briefly hesitating, she smiled and agreed. They exchanged numbers on WhatsApp and Lando had agreed to pick her up from her apartment around 7pm for their date. Aurora had to head out for a pilates class she was taking, so she thanked Lando for the company and left.

As Aurora left, Lando saved her number in his WhatsApp contacts. Her profile picture appeared and he thought she looked beautiful in it. Under her profile picture, her name read as Aurora V. Lando smiled to himself about their interaction and he was excited to have dinner with her. He was curious if she recognized him at all, but was appreciative she wasn't only interested in him for being an F1 driver. He finished up his coffee and made his way home.
