I adjusted my hair for what felt like the hundredth time, pursing my lips at my reflection as if that would somehow make me look more put together. My dad's voice rang through the house...loud and impatient.

"Jules! If we don't leave now, we're going to be stuck in Monaco traffic, and I will personally blame you when my team makes fun of me for missing my own meeting!"

I rolled my eyes, though a small smile tugged at my lips. He was always dramatic about punctuality, but this time, I couldn't even blame him. It was a race weekend in Monaco, and if there was one place where lateness was an absolute sin, it was here.

Still, I needed to look perfect. I hadn't been to the paddock in a while, and today wasn't just any race weekend..I was finally going to see him again.

The thought alone made my heart stutter in my chest.

But this time, things were different. I wasn't just Toto's little daughter anymore, running around the paddock in oversized team merch, looking up at the drivers like they were superheroes. I was twenty five now, officially an adult.

My place in the paddock wasn't just as the team principal's kid...it was mine to own. I carried myself differently, dressed differently, moved through the world with a confidence that only came with time.

With a final look in the mirror, I grabbed my perfume bottle and gave myself one last spritz...just enough to make an impression without being overpowering. Satisfied, I headed down the grand stairs, my heels clicking against the marble floor as I saw my dad standing near the front door, briefcase in hand.

"Must you always make me late?" he said.

I smiled up at him, standing on my tiptoes to press a quick kiss to his cheek. "You love me anyway."

He let out an exaggerated sigh, shaking his head, but the smile betrayed him. "Unfortunately, yes."

With that, we stepped outside, and headed to the driveway. I slid into the passenger seat as my dad settled in beside me, adjusting his sunglasses before pulling out onto the winding streets that led toward the paddock.

"Remember, no unnecessary distractions," he warned. "You're here to spend time with me at work, not-"

"Not for me to get swept up in unnecessary drama," I finished for him, already knowing the speech by heart. "I know, papa."

His gaze flicked over to me for a moment before he exhaled, shaking his head and smiling. "You're too much like your mother."

I took that as a compliment.

"Why thank you kind sir."

As we drove along the harbor, my fingers tightened around the fabric of my dress. I wasn't sure if it was the anticipation of the weekend or him that had my heart racing. All I knew was that, after all this time, I was finally going to see him again. And I had no idea what to expect.

"George!" I squealed the moment we stepped into the Mercedes motorhome, my voice full of excitement.

Before I could take another step, I was lifted off the ground in a tight bear hug, my feet leaving the floor as George spun me around effortlessly. I laughed, gripping onto his shoulders for balance as he held me tight.

"Jules! Where have you been hiding? It's been forever!" he teased, finally setting me down.

"I know, I know," I said with a grin, smoothing out my dress. "Life has been busy, but I'm back now. And don't act like you don't see me at team dinners."
