Chapter 5: Parents arrive...Some of TY past...The Aunt is not happy

Summary: With her parents' arrival at the base Tong Yao's patience has almost run out because of her mother insulting her team whom she has become very fond of. And Tong Yao finds out that there are more people in her life that will gladly step in to do what needs to be done to protect her, than just her Aunt and Uncle.

Authors Note: I had originally wanted something different, however, the muse went a completely direction especially with why our beloved Salt Maiden's Aunt and Uncle have her father's last name when they are siblings to her mother.......the Muse was really determined to have it this way!

Chapter Five

"Here mama, some chrysanthemum tea." tried Tong Yao as she placed a cup down on the table in front of the couch before sitting beside her mother but fought back a sigh as the woman gave her a dark look with an non-verbal order for her to do so and to sit down.

"Enough with your antics." snapped Tong Lai as she glared at her daughter with a cold look as she really had no idea where she had gone wrong with her only child! "Do you think we are here for tea?!" She demanded to know of her and watched her closely.

"Bu." murmured Tong Yao as she was already feeling drained from barely speaking with her mother. She could never do anything that was good enough for her mother and sometimes...apparently like today it took its toll on her.

"What on earth is going on with you? You're a young girl. Why are you drinking alcohol? Didn't you say you were here to play professionally or something?! That this was a legitimate job. That was what you had written in that damn note you left when you took off in the middle of the night?!" demanded Tong Lai as she curled her lip at the reminder that her daughter had just run away from home with her best friend's help...though she had a feeling her younger sister helped her daughter as well.

"I can see why she does not wish for a henpecked husband...because she has no wish to be a domineering wife...or mother, like her own mother is." muttered Lao K as he grimaced as the older woman smacked their girl on the harm it seemed pretty hard as the young female actually winced from the action.

"Not to mention, I can't blame her for running for it in the dead of night, if this is what she has to deal with." muttered Lao Mao as he scowled as he was not liking how the woman was treating their Mid and gritted his teeth.

Ming frowned as he watched the proceedings but stayed near the Captain as he could see the man was less than pleased at the moment with their Mid's parents, especially her mother. "Cheng, maybe you should message our Mid's Aunt." he muttered under his breath as the man's lip thinned as the woman smacked her daughter's shoulder hard once more, causing the young girl to wince again in slight pain.

"Already did. She's on her way here now, apparently she has moved to Shenzhen to be closer to our Mid, encase if she needs anything." responded Sicheng with a cold tone as he watched and narrowed his eyes at what was going on. He gritted his teeth as he was very close to ripping into the woman for smacking his girl and causing her to wince in pain.
