Chapter Sixty-Four
The laughter faded as quickly as it had come.
The lounge shifted.
The air changed.
Five minutes earlier they had been joking about takoyaki and hidden tech. Now the monitors flickered with game stats, damage charts, cooldown usage, gold curves. The second round loomed heavy and immediate.
Yue clapped Pang once on the shoulder as he headed for the door. "Don't choke."
Pang rolled his eyes. "Get back to the VIP before security escorts you."
Yue grinned and pointed at Yao. "No more near-death heroics."
She didn't look at him, eyes locked on the screen as she adjusted her wrist wrap. "No promises."
"Yao," Ming warned without looking up.
She sighed. "Calculated promises."
"Better," Ming replied.
The door shut behind Yue as he returned to the VIP section. The room fell into full focus.
Ming stepped forward, tapping the screen where the draft recap glowed. "They're going to hit mid again," he said evenly. "After that performance? They're not letting Kisei through."
Yao nodded once. "Good."
Pang blinked. "Good?"
She rolled her shoulders slowly. "Let them waste bans."
Sicheng leaned forward, hands on the table. "They'll adjust jungle pathing early. Ai Jia won't give you free trades."
"I don't need free trades," she replied calmly.
Lao K crossed his arms. "Top lane pressure increased second round. They're going to try snowball side lanes."
Lao Mao nodded. "Bot's going to be volatile."
Ming's voice sharpened slightly. "Which means we draft stable."
Yao tilted her head. "Or we draft pressure."
Ming looked at her.
She met his gaze evenly.
"If they come hard," she continued quietly, "we break them harder."
The silence in the room was thick but not uncertain.
Sicheng spoke next, voice low and controlled. "We don't get greedy. We punish."
Pang leaned back in his chair, exhaling once. "So what's the angle?"
Ming turned back to the screen. "We force their comfort picks this time."
