Chapter Twenty-Eight
"Turn me." ordered Yao with a reassuring look to Pang as the male nodded and did as such. She twirled out, easily keeping balance in her heels before the man brought her back to his arms. A smile of pride came upon her face as both danced the waltz around the area they had cleared for her to teach him. As soon as the song came to an end, she curtseyed as he bowed to her and laughed with pride. "Well done! Pang-ge, you were excellent." she praised the male as he perked up and beamed at her widely.
"Really?" asked Pang with a huge smile of hope on his face as she patted his shoulder with a beaming smile.
"Yes! You learned way faster than Ai Jia did! Mia-Jia is going to be a very lucky girl with you the night of the ball." nodded Yao with a soft look as she saw the insecurity in his eyes and could relate to the male. "Want to know a secret?" she asked of him as he perked up and nodded eagerly to her. "Before I got into dance and even then when I first started? I had two left feet as the saying goes. I had no coordination and I was very much a klutz. I was so bad that I even had the special ability in tripping over nothing but air! I swear my dance instructor wanted to pull out her hair sometimes while teaching me." she snorted with a smirk on her face as the male looked stunned.
"But you're so graceful, Xiao JieJie." gaped Pang with disbelief as the female laughed with a small shake of her head.
"I wasn't always like this. It took me six months to stop stepping on people's toes, another a few months to stop tripping and taking my dance partner to the ground with me when I lost my balance. What you see is a lot of hard work." offered Yao as she twirled gracefully in her heels before bowing to the male with a grin as he watched her in awe that she had done it with her heels without stumbling. Sighing, she moved sitting down on the floor removing her heels as she moved, massaging her feet some as the male joined her with a curious look as he removed his own to put back on his slippers.
"Why did you stop dancing? It seems like you really liked it." asked Pang as he eyed their precious Mid as she sighed and something flickered across face.
"Despite being forced into doing it? I did fall in love with it...besides my books? It became an escape for me, you know. I could get lost in just the feeling of dancing and moving to the music while blocking out the outside world...fall into my own little world, if you will. However...my mother or my incubator as Yue is heard to mutter now and again when she gets brought up, she...well when I had danced on the stage in the lead role for Swan Lake? I found out she had brought a suitor there to show me off to them without me knowing. The 33 year old Blind Date she had tried to set me up on that had everyone in my grandfather up in arms about...I felt sick after the show and I found myself wanting to quit it because I would not allow her to sell me off to someone, by bringing them to any show I had decided to star in. That's when I had made the decision to quit. Like everything that woman has done when I had become good at something? She ruins it by proclaiming it would make me the perfect bride." Yao explained in a soft pained tone as she looked off to the side with pain flickering over her face before she blinked as her hand was grabbed and looked into Pang's eyes.
