Chapter Fifty-One

The moment the announcer's voice boomed across the stadium again, the lights surged in tandem, washing the entire arena in electric gold and red as the stage cameras locked on the entrance tunnel.

"And now, please welcome back to the stage for Round Two... ZGDX!"

The crowd was already roaring in anticipation, the memory of the first round still fresh in their minds, the flash of spectral fire from Sanbi no Kitsune, Yao's impossible triple kill, the calculated collapse of YQCB's backline. Her name had been on every commentator's lips, her highlight clips already trending across every platform.

Everyone expected her to walk out again as the ADC.

Only... she didn't.

The first figure to step out of the tunnel was Yao, yes—but this time, she wasn't front and center. Her jacket was zipped to her sternum, her headset already clipped over her shoulders, and the look in her eyes wasn't that of the flexible wildcard she'd been moments ago.

It was the gaze of a returning general.

Yao gave a subtle nod to the camera but didn't raise her hand, didn't soak in the noise—she just strode forward toward her seat without fanfare. But the moment behind her the crowd caught a glimpse of the second figure ..... Chaos. Absolute, immediate chaos.

Lu Sicheng stepped out of the tunnel with his head held high, black headset already resting over his neck, his wrist braced but steady, his eyes sharp and unreadable as ever. The moment his name flashed across the screen, his role flickering underneath in bold text:

LU SICHENG – ADC

The arena exploded.

Not just applause, not just cheers, screams, gasps, the sound of thousands realizing they were watching ZGDX do something no team had pulled off in years:

A full rotational mid-match lane swap.

Commentators immediately jumped in, their voices layered over one another:

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is unprecedented! Yao steps down from ADC after that performance, and Lu Sicheng himself, Captain of ZGDX, returns to reclaim his role!"

"We heard rumors of a rotation plan, but to see it executed this cleanly at the semifinal stage... this is madness!"

"No, it's brilliance. Yao wins Game One as ADC, forces YQCB to plan around her, and now they have to recalculate everything with Lu Sicheng stepping in? That's not strategy. That's a declaration."
