Sick Day

Angel groaned in dramatic agony as he threw his head down on his pillow. If Hell wasn't bad enough, you were able to be sick when you were already fucking dead.

"Oh calm down," Husk scoffed, handing the overreacting spider a glass of water and some pills to help bring down the fever.

"You aren't the one that's sick, asshole," Angel mumbled into the pillow, taking the water and medicine gladly.

"At least I'm taking care of you," Husk said, rolling his eyes and kissed his exaggerating partner of his warm temple.

"Hmm... whatever," he grumbled tiredly in response before coughing hoarsely.

"You're quite rude when your sick," the cat like sinner joked.

Angel muttered something inaudible to Husk. But the fact that Husk cared enough to ditch work and risk getting scolded by Alastor to take care of him made his heart flutter and the heat rise to his cheeks. But that last part could just be the fever.

"Are you hungry?" Husk asked, waiting by the door for his response.

Angel lifted his head, but kept his eyes from Husk's gaze as he nodded. The winged sinner smiled and left.

The spider laid in bed, wrapped in blankets because this fever was making him fucking cold. He wasn't one to get sick often, and even he was quite shocked considering the amount of people he was around at work... work! Shit he had to tell Val he couldn't make it. He'd be fucking pissed and Angel would definitely be working late when he did come back.

Husk came back a few minutes later with tea and soup for Angel's throat and set it down on his bedside table.

"Something wrong, Legs?" Husk asked, every time he asked a question one of his ears lowered slightly and he barely cocked his head to the side. Angel thought this was absolutely adorable and would always tease his partner about it.

"I've gotta tell Val that I'm not gonna make it today..." he said quietly, mainly due to the fact that if he raised his voice anymore his throat would feel like it was on fire.

"I'd say he'd understand but we both know that that's a lie," Husk said as he handed Angel the mug full of tea. "Either way you're not going to work tomorrow no matter how you feel."

"I'm sure I'll feel fine tomorrow," Angel sounded like he was trying to convince himself of this. "Besides, you're here, so I already feel better."

Husk smiled as he took the spider hand and kissed his cheek.

"I betcha twenty bucks that you're gonna end up sick next week," Angel teased as he took a drink of his tea.

"I'm not taking that bet."

"Oh so Husker, the ex-gambling overlord admits that he's gonna lose?" Angel coughed a few times in between each word so it sounded less threatening.

Husk rolled his eyes as his tail swished back and forth. Angel noticed this little tick, but Husk told him to shut up before he said anything.

"Need anything else?" Husk asked softly as he ran his fingers through the spider's hair.

"Cuddles," Angel said, although it sounded more like a weak demand. Either way Husk had crawled into bed with his boyfriend and pulled him into his chest. "This is nice... minus the sick part."

"Mhm..." Husk sighed.

"Thank you," Angel muttered into Husk's chest as he felt himself blush.

"It's my job to take care of you, baby. Did the medicine kick in?"

"Yeah..." Angel yawned, wrapping all four of his arms around his partner's torso as he felt his eyelids get heavy while he listened to the steady sounds of Husk's breaths.

"I love you," Husk whispered in the spider's ear as he slowly drifted off as well.

(This one is sooooo much shorter than usual, but I was thinking about doing a human or overlord Au and I was planning on making either of them long, but I can't decide which one. Please help.)
