(Part two to the previous sad shit)

It had been three weeks since the last extermination. It had ended with the angels leaving, but still, nobody won. Everyone had been upset, but the afterlife still carried on with more sinners at the hotel and the staff still doing their jobs. It took a lot of coaxing to get Husk out of his room and back to the bar. Two and a half weeks to be exact, and Alastor had to order him do go do his job or else he'd probably end up as nothing more than screams broadcast over the radio. Charlie got mad at the deer like sinner for this and tried to help Husk the best she could, but failing seeing as every single time he pushed her away. He pushed everyone away because he didn't know what to do.

Without the spider the hotel seemed to be missing something, but no one said anything as if bringing up his name would make his death seem pointless. Husk thought this was a terrible idea himself, but he never said anything about the missing sinner either. Although the bartender would make sure that the spider's pet, who he loved more than anything in Hell, was well fed and happy. Even Fat Nuggets seemed to wonder where his owner went, which would only make Husk feel even worse and he'd spend all day locked in the arachnid's room and wouldn't open the door for anyone.

Husk was currently at the bar, fidgeting with a stack of cards as he waited for a certain someone to come back. He'd been waiting for three weeks for the someone in question to return even though longing for him was pointless. Husk had tried to convince himself that the missing sinner wasn't actually gone, rather just hung up at work and couldn't call or come back at the moment. It wasn't working. So all the cat like sinner had done for the entire time was drink. More than usual seeing as he was usually drunk anyways.

Charlie approached the bar for her pointless daily check in with the winged sinner with a cheerful face that was not helping the cat's heart wrenching situation. "Hey, Husk, so um... just checking in y'know to um... see how you're doing," she spoke with a careful tone, stringing words together cautiously as if one wrong word could make Husk break down again.

"I'm fine," Husk snapped, regretting the tone afterwards. The princess's smile dropped and her eyes softened. "I'm just fine as the last twenty times you've asked me this." The cat like sinner picked up a glass and pored Charlie a drink as a tiny show of an apology. She couldn't handle anything too strong, he had made note of that after the first time she'd asked for something, which wasn't often though.

"That's good," Charlie said, a failed reassuring smile on her face. She took a sip of the drink and began to speak again, her tone returning to its normal, cheery form. "Oh! One of the seraphims contacted me the other day and said that they had big news to tell us. Emily seemed super excited about it so I'm hoping that it's good."

Husk caught himself smiling at the princess's excitement that he and the arachnid used to make fun of sometimes. "That's nice..." He trailed off. He felt like he was lying to both Charlie and himself, but the other didn't seem to notice and she continued to talk. It was a very one sided conversation and Husk found his mind wandering elsewhere, to the thoughts of the spider that he missed terribly.

After a while, Charlie left to deal with something else and all the other hotel inhabitants had gone to sleep, leaving Husk at the bar, alone, with an empty hallway and a lot of pent up emotions. He had never felt so alone and miserable before.

"Dammit, Legs," Husk whispered under his breath as he stared at the empty bar stool across from him. "Why'd you have to go you jackass." He felt a lump form in his throat and the tears well up in his eyes. He felt all the emotions he had held in the entire day waiting to burst out of him, but he had no one to talk to. He really was alone. Worst of all, he was scared. Losing Angel was the scariest thing in all of fucking Hell for him.

With vision blurred from tears Husk closed the bar and went up to Angel's room, where fed the spider's cherished pet. He sat down on the bed, pulling his knees up to his chest and hiding himself from everything with his wings. He could detect the lingering scent of the arachnid's perfume that he wore everyday. It was comforting to be around, but it felt terrible to not really have Angel there, to actually comfort him with his touch.

Husk sighed and let the tears fall, soaking his fur in the process. "Dammit," He sniffled quietly. "Dammit Anthony. I need you so bad right now. Please come back, love." The cat like sinner cried himself to sleep, though he tossed and turned all night, feeling weird without Angel in bed with him.

(Yes there will be part three... and maybe four.)
